West Indies bowling is very disciplined and good. They keep saying the pitch is similar to the one that we beat India on in 2018. That had 3 scores of 200-300 and one of 180, so it isn’t going to be a run fest.

It is slightly strange that we chose to bat given the conditions and us picking a specialist spinner, which would have suggested bowling last would have been better.
We will be bowling last..... unless the Windies rack up 450+ and beat us by an innings.

True. Not sure how Ingot that wrong!
Seems they based their decision on the fact it turned square in the fourth innings and Moeen took 8 wickets. Seems strange given the conditions but it is forecast sunshine from tomorrow onwards so should dry out. Whether we will be in any kind of position to take advantage is another matter.

It’s putting a lot of pressure on Bess.

True seems a bit strange to base your game plan around a rookie spinner with no Root to back him up either.
Maybe they were more worried about the Windies spinner on the last day?

He’s unlikely to make that much of an impact from the hotel or wherever he’s watching the match!

So what do we think the Windies first innings lead is going to be? 150? 200? More?
Way it’s going looking like West Indies are going to get 300+. Decision to both bat first as well as leave out broad on a slow pitch both proving to be incorrect.

All credit to West Indies mind batting well
