So are you saying the club have to prepare two differing press statements in advance? One for defeat, one for success, like a politician standing for election?

Not as simple. Preparing for a defeat would surely require knowing reasoning and likely options thereafter, to make a meaningful statement to not just fans but investors. So to me, they would require more time to assess the decision and prepare a statement on that, rather than an off the shelf one

Quite plausible that City and UEFA are informed of the decision at, say, 7am on Monday with an announcement at midday?

To me, it is not.

Preparing a statement takes an hour. My understanding is that all parties will be informed early Monday am.

Public announcement might not be until the afternoon.

Just watched on bt. Probably nothing but he was first to be interviewed and asked how everyone at the club had responded during the crisis. It might just be me but he did seem to be a little friendlier towards us than I would have expected.

Sorry, but I find it really worrying that you're all allowing yourself to believe that everything is going to be ok when in fact we know the nothing. I'm a pessimist and always think the worst outcome is usually the norm.
