Leaks do happen.

Just not to Vloggers who a few days back were “let go” by the club.

Also let’s be clear. Nothing has leaked to anyone of any repute yet. And it’s Saturday morning.
Ian Cheesman is well respected throughout the football community & loves the club to bits. I'm 100% sure he would not have tweeted that out of spite just because he doesn't work for the club any longer. He will however still have connections with City & he's most likely just passing on information that he's heard.
Give the man some credit.

So Colin you really think Ian Cheeseman knows this for a fact? I definitely think he is winging it
I definitely think he's been told something solid. I'm very cautious about sources these days, as the same information often goes round in a loop with people swearing they've heard it from a normally reliable source. But I'm happy the information is kosher and I know that whoever Ian's source was, it wasn't the same as mine. So I'm confident it's genuine information.

If he's correct on Monday morning yes, if he's called it wrong the man will be destroyed and his City career/connections over!

I've already posted this but clearly people don't read further back or have the memory of goldfishes. The parties will have been told the preliminary decision a few days ago, at the latest. The then have an opportunity to alert CAS to any fundamental errors in the judgement. Assuming there are none, the decision is then formalised and signed off.

I think (although I don't know for sure) that the parties may have been notified of the decision as long as 2 weeks ago. There is no doubt however that the club and UEFA know the outcome that will be announced on Monday. And it's no coincidence that the news started to come out yesterday afternoon once CAS had shut for the weekend.
That will be right, and even if it was only a couple of days notice think a condition of agreeing to wait until Monday for a announcement would have come with the condition that we get told when we would have for the 10th announcement. That get me thinking who would know, I'd say at least Abu Dhabi, Khaldoon, Soriano,Berrada Txiki, Pep.so even without any implicit leaks I'm sure those around those people, family, staff, would pick up up just on their general demeanour and mood. So it's more than possible anyone around the club or with contacts in the club could see or hear enough to take a punt like Cheeseman or Sinclair and be fairly confident of being right.

Sinclair tweeted the exact same word.

Is he not a match day ambassador in corporate for us these days?
Before Cheesey? Or was he perhaps just using the word he read on Cheesey's post? If there were any leaks at Friday's draw tomorrow is the last chance for a world exclusive.

And, visa versa, if he’s proven correct there should be some big apologies from those who have slandered his character before even knowing if he’s correct or not.

With zero corroboration we can obviously bin the Cheeseman tweet. Don't think he put it out for attention particularly, just a bit naive.

I still think the lack of anything out of UEFA is positive. I'm not talking full on New York Times, I mean nothing yet to give the usual suspects enough to be firm in their tone on the matter. The Delaney tweet a classic of its genre - the "I have no idea - all my sources are quiet" tweet.

Agreed.

There are a couple of credible reasons for cautious optimism, but nothing more than that at this stage.

But Ian Cheeseman’s tweet really shouldn’t be one of them. I just can’t conceive how he would know, given the level any knowledge at the club of the outcome will be held at.

I’d like to agree but I don’t think this info has gone below the highest levels, and certainly not to any levels Ian gets info from, such as Buzzer, who in my opinion is way too loose a cannon to have this info. I still think we will be ok though

Maybe he did it with the full knowledge and approval of the club? Maybe the club even suggested he did it?

As pointed out earlier, Cheesey would never reveal if this was true; And as he isn't an employee of the club there could be no comeback
Grasping at illusory straws!

If I did know the result of the case I certainly wouldn't be posting it here. Seems anyone that sticks their head above the parapet runs the risk of it getting chopped off.

Obviously hope Ian Cheeseman is right, if not the fact he posted information that turned out to be inaccurate us the last of my concerns.

Juventus did a more obvious botch job of a sponsor I’ve ever seen.

- about to fail FFP due to wage bill after signing C. Ronaldo

- Jeep are owned by the same people as Juventus

- Jeep spontaneously decide to increase their annual payments to Juventus by 25 MILLION EUROS, despite having many years left on their existing sponsorship contract.

- what do you know? That was just the amount they needed to scrape through FFP.

This is where ffp is flawed though. If I was a sponsor that paid €100m per year to be a shirt sponsor would I be happy to make it €125m if they signed Ronaldo? He has 230 million followers on Instagram alone. I see zero problem with that Jeep / Juve deal.

I think you’ll find that’s me.

tbf I can imagine you as rumpole of the bailey

It would certainly dent his credibility, which is why I think he's passed this on in good faith. It's too much to risk.

It's 9:15am on a Saturday morning and I've been glued to this thread for two hours already. I think that's my weekend sorted. This will be my last contribution for a while because I don't want to create more reading for people without anything important to say.

For what it's worth, I think little weight should be attached to Ian Cheeseman's tweet yesterday. That doesn't mean to say that he may not turn out to be right but he has subsequently become conspicuous by his absence since posting that tweet. We're all City fans, of course, but he is a borderline obsessive City fan. He even admits it himself. Ask yourself this - is it plausible for a mad keen City fan, with a relative fall from media grace, to try to seize the story about the best possible news we've had in a long time? I think so, and, in the absence of any other information, I'm discarding what he said.

Pep's apparently bullish press conference yesterday may be more indicative of a positive verdict. It is perfectly conceivable that he knew at that point and it would be surprisingly forthcoming for a man who does not know to say what he said less than 72 hours before the whole world knows.
