CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

I'd like to think that we'd go for reclaiming this fine as part of damages as a result of the whole investigation (perhaps not through CAS) but probably we'll stick rather than twist.
I think you're probably right, although the damage to reputation is something they'll be thinking about.

"Manchester City did not disguise equity funding as sponsorship contributions".
Likewise, Kieran Maguire, Football Finance lecturer at University of Liverpool, said: “I think Manchester City will be delighted. Realistically they will be better off to the tune of around a quarter of a billion pounds – assuming they reach the Champions League in the next two seasons. Of course, they have qualified for next season’s competition...“In terms of Manchester City, the allegation was they had inflated their revenues through the owners and Cas appear to have come down very firmly in their summary of the hearing to say that wasn’t the case. The quality of evidence put forward by Uefa was insubstantial and inadequate.”

For those who don't already know, our lead lawyer was Lord David Pannick. I suppose the moral is: if you are in trouble - Pannick!
Our advisor was Pannick. I believe he worked on the lines to be taken with Monica Carrs Frisk, a team that has played together before. She is head of the chambers.
Monica presented our case at CAS.
