CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

For Liverpool to infer that City had won their case after playing City, it follows that City must have wiped the floor with UEFA at CAS. We'd have to be very confident for Liverpool/City to be confident of the outcome

It's Klopp's comments which irk me the most as he expressed some sympathy for us when the ban was first announced. What has caused the change I wonder? The inference that we cannot afford to pay the wages and transfer fees we do is simply false yet still people like Klopp who should know better still peddle it despite all the evidence proving otherwise. Our revenues, based on many years of success and the longest currently continuous run of playing in the CL is there for anyone to see yet they still they come out with this utter garbage.
He is a fucking twat, but he laughs a lot...

Got this today from a Blades mate from when I lived in Sheffield. Not claiming I am ITK at all, and neither is he, but I know hes a very straight guy who knows a lot of peops in football......Can’t say to much but I know someone at a high level that was party to the conference call yesterday morning at 7.30 they had not got a clue what the outcome was going to be to say there was a lot of jumping up and down including pep is an under statement the 10 million will be paid pocket money
you're probably right mate, I'd been mothering a players mum all weekend to spill the beans but she was adamant he didn't know

Had a listen last night, really good stuff. The Sheff Utd fan was in knots. TBF I put that down to mediq brainwashing over the last few years.
Strange fan to put her up against when they are not one of the hateful eight and not a rival, done on purpose to create division I wonder

You're giving him the benefit of the doubt as he stated it in terms in which you could consider he was being either anti UEFA and anti decision whereas its being portrayed on SKY as exactly what I suspect which is that weve been fined so we must be guilty. His previous musings on the subject of our charge heavily intimate he meant the latter.
Yes, it *could* be either, I can’t and wouldn’t argue against that.

Though, as I said to Coatigan, Sky (and most other outlets) were always going to interpret his comments, whatever they were, in the way that creates the most conflict and media engagement (clicks, views, comments, phone calls, letters in a bottle, etc). In this case, it will be that he meant to have a dig at City, CAS, and whether his comments are hypocritical given his own previous legal troubles.

I caught an extract of the Mourinho interview.

The way it had been edited.

It sounded like he was saying we should have been fucked over either way.

see what you can do with a bit of creative editing.

I couldn't understand what he was referring to.

I just presumed he was another clueless fucker with a burning Pitch Fork.

We need a body language expert. Calling @ricky77 ;-)

and @SebastianBlue

Here we go. Obviously a lot of creative interpretation in that, not denying that.

But He knew what he was doing though, and how it would echo round when he said it, without needing to put hinself on the line for saying it. He deserves credit fir that, it is a skill.

I dare bet other papers will run with a similar take on it.

As I said, the outlets were always going to interpret this way.

He could have said “I think City deserve this!” and the media would have reported “Mourinho says City deserve to be called cheats and a ‘grubby club’!”

I am sure many will find a way to twist Arteta’s very supportive comments to be a passive-aggressive takedown of his former boss. ;-)

I hate Jose Mourinho with a passion, attention seeking c*nt. Could have just said he doesn't have any comments. Just feeding crumbs to the media to have a go at us again. Can't wait to see him get sacked for the 100th time.

Not denying for a second churnalists would have looked for that angle. What i'm claiming is he 100% gave it to them. Without seeming to do so. Watching that video, nothing can convince me he didn't mean to do exactly that, and insinuate it, enough to make it stick.

In the exact same way Pep didn't actually 'demand an apology' from other clubs, in his statement. Except that he did. Without saying those words.

Fair enough. I think we agree he could have been meaning to do it, we just disagree on whether he actually consciously meant to do so, and I don’t think we’ll ever really know.

At least, not until he finally becomes unemployable after a truly catastrophic rant alienating him from the football community at-large and he releases his tell-all ghost-written memoir entitled “The Special One: The Story of the Greatest Manager of All-Time and the Bastards That Kept Him Down”.
