England hospital deaths 22 with NONE from yesterday. Just 3 from the north west.

Last Wednesday it was 42 with 4 from the day before and 7 from the north west.

This is a very good day. Hope that zero gets a mention by the media. Not just the 22. Itself half of last Wednesday.

it did not when it first happened 4 days ago. It is significant as it is from a mid week day not a Sunday. And with N Ireland and Scotland having 0 on the day deaths for long runs now England reporting two of them in a week as well is very good.

I know we post a figure as the daily deaths that include backdated add ons. Which is fair in some senses. But it misses this kind of positive entirely.

Wales 2 new deaths and 18 new cases. Last week they had 4 deaths and 13 cases.

So UK hospital total today looks like being 24 v 47 this time last week.

That 47 became 126 in all settings.

And there were 630 cases this time last week (from 126K tests)

No deaths here in 7 days. No admissions for two. Keep it up Scotland. We too have our gammon I'm not wearing a mask types, but, most are. Here's hoping, as we open up a bit more, that people see tue results elsewhere and wcrew the nut.

Definitely feels as if the virus is in retreat although the numbers dying outside of hospital is still a concern as are the numbers still in hospital. More people wearing masks today when I nipped to the shops which is a good sign. Fingers crossed the new infections continue to drop as well as the death rate and more normality can come back into our lives. We all need to guard against any complacency though and not think it has gone as it hasn't. A vaccine can't come soon enough IMO. And a big thanks to @Healdplace for posting all the figures daily, much appreciated by many on here I suspect.

Any person who thinks a bloody face mask is beneficial in stopping the spread of a " killer virus" is,imo a moron. If the police, professional footballers and mps are not forced to wear them why dhould the orcinary person in the streetvbe forced to do so?
You,d be better off studying the mechanics of the human bodies immune system,and....getting to grips with the reality that " No disease can exist in an alkaline state"
Something the goverment ,and uneducated folk have conveniently ignored whilst eroding the civil liberties of most of the population.
Most folk are blind sheep.
Beggars belief.
It’s your post that beggars belief.
I think you’re on the wind up.

As someone who was recently diagnosed with cancer, had major surgery, is now going through chemo and the outlook for me is promising. Solely because of good science and early intervention. The bit I've underlined completely boils my piss, if you want to be a conspiracy nutjob, go ahead and knock yourself out. But understand this utter bullshit is very dangerous indeed and there should actually be some form of law(if there isn't already) against the dangerous promotion of this utter fucking tosh.

I'm fortunate i have couple of brain cells to rub together, but plenty of people believe this shit to the detriment of their long term health. You should be fucking ashamed of yourself repeating it on a public forum without any shred of evidence to back it up(other than possibly some utter fuckwit youtube vlogger)

For the record cancer research has a decent myth busting page, and I and plenty of others I know, who've been through and going through the system will testify that a lot of progress is being made. /rant

With reference to your pitiful statement, I'll give you this quote from cancer research

"Some myths about cancer are surprisingly persistent, despite flying in the face of basic biology. One such idea is that overly ‘acidic’ diets cause your blood to become ‘too acidic’, which can increase your risk of cancer. Their proposed answer: increase your intake of healthier ‘alkaline’ foods like green vegetables and fruits (including, paradoxically, lemons).

This is biological nonsense. True, cancer cells can’t live in an overly alkaline environment, but neither can any of the other cells in your body.

Blood is usually slightly alkaline. This is tightly regulated by the kidneys within a very narrow and perfectly healthy range. It can’t be changed for any meaningful amount of time by what you eat, and any extra acid or alkali is simply peed out in urine.

To maintain the correct balance within the body, your urine can and does change pH, depending on what you’ve eaten (explained in detail in this post). This can be seen by testing urine pH (acidity) after eating different foods and is the basis of the mistaken belief that diet can “make the body alkaline”. But that’s all you’re changing, and anyone who claims otherwise simply doesn’t understand how the body works. [Edited for clarity and extra links, KA 08/08/14]
While eating lots of green veg is certainly healthy, that’s not because of any effect on how acid or alkaline your body is.

There is something called acidosis. This is a physiological condition that happens when your kidneys and lungs can’t keep your body’s pH (a measure of acidity) in balance. It is often the result of serious illness or poisoning. It can be life-threatening and needs urgent medical attention, but it’s not down to overly acidic diets.

We know that the immediate environment around cancer cells (the microenvironment) can become acidic. This is due to differences in the way that tumours create energy and use oxygen compared with healthy tissue. Researchers are working hard to understand how this happens, in order to develop more effective cancer treatments.

But there’s no good evidence to prove that diet can manipulate whole body pH, or that it has an impact on cancer."

Civil liberties? don't be ridiculous., it's a face covering while you are in a shop, it's nothing.

Well said.
These fuckwits should not be given a voice.

Just seen some bloke on the news saying he’s not going to wear face masks because he doesn’t believe in them and because he doesn’t believe in Covid!!

What fucking chance do we have if attitudes like that are common.
I went out this morning and was the only one in my part of town wearing one again, the only other person I have ever seen one aside from me is a pregnant lady.in the shop the assistant was moaning that next week they will have to wear masks for eight hours a day,i told her you really don't want covid so stop moaning

The kind of post where we need a 'standing ovation' button rather than just 'like'...

What's the current consensus on whether we actually still require a vaccine (given the inherent risks of a rushed vaccine or vaccine in general) especially as the T cell theory is gathering weight?

Looking at the states id say yeah we need it...

I posted a video yesterday you may appeciate too about why the low levels of antibodies in some people. It seemingly activating 2 different types of immune response.

Of course we need a vaccine as covid will be back in the winter ,all the right procedures are being done trying to find a vaccine, safety is paramount and they won't cut corners, there is evidence that the antibodies can only last for a month,we have to get everyone at risk vaccinated as we do with the flu

Saw that - and links to that new T cell paper posted earlier (positive thread). I guess the question is how much of the population have this protection (which seems to last for years unlike antibodies according to some reports).

This winter would be a remarkably fast turnaround (not hugely surprising given the money & resources thrown at it).
Would you take the vaccine later this year btw (I know you’ve had but presuming the anti bodies don’t last)?

Slightly more worrying news the number of Covid patients in UK hospitals rose for second successive day after weeks of falls
