The FFP rule is unfair regardless, whats wrong with investing my own money into my business ?
City do really need to take this clown to the fucking dogs and sue the arse out of him.

Seeing that news live on Sky Sports News, but coming in late, ticker speeding up, it was an out of body experience. It was like the Aguero moment - I was yelling, punching the air and running around the house - and there was only me at home...... And I have to be careful these days having suffered two TIAs. City aren't good for my health - but I'll die happy !!Since the sentence by UEFA back in February (5 months) my gut has been constantly churning, nerves shredded, sphincter twitching. But I would go through it all again to see that not guilty verdict at the end & witness the complete meltdown by all those in the media & opposing fans & managers who wanted us banned & how they are crying & whinging seeing their big dream crushed. How utterly satisfying this week has been. I have had a permanent fixed smile on my face which I think I may need surgery to get it removed. All through this period they were so certain that we would get a ban. All the talk has been when not if we get banned or let's wait & see the result.

I said from day one that FFP is like something out of the old Soviet Union or any other command and control dictatorship. This the capitalist west - people are allowed to invest and grow a business in any other industry or fail for that matter. We're the best run club in the country - a proper community club. FFP was designed to keep the likes of us from the top table - not to protect us. Most of the elite are half a billion in debt. Nuff said.@projectriver I don't know if you said this or someone else, but is it true that UEFA's time-bar is built around EU law and limitation periods?
So these are not arbitrary rules, they actually make UEFA comply with EU law, because if UEFA tried to take action against someone outside the EU limitation period, a club could just appeal to an EU court and have it thrown out, the same way Bosman overruled FIFA/UEFA rules?
If this is true it feels like a fairly significant talking point that City should be putting out there to silence the technicality/"UEFA let them off with shitty rules" narrative.

Somewhere on here I said years ago that City are doing a Bosman. We didn't get off on any technicality - time-barred also means we didn't have the opportunity to kick the crap out of UEFA's dreamt up charges.@projectriver I don't know if you said this or someone else, but is it true that UEFA's time-bar is built around EU law and limitation periods?

It's madness. The rags are in the same boat bailing out shopping malls in mid west America.Under FFP UEFA tried to ban City for two years with a huge fine because they thought our owner had topped up one of our sponsor payments with £67.5m of his own money. But under FFP Barcelona are being allowed to borrow £800m from a US bank (interest of £75m a year) and put the entire club at risk by plunging it into huge debts. Nobody can possibly defend this system, apart from Javier Tebas, a fascist who is single-handedly destroying the reputation of Spanish football. The whole situation is beyond parody.
I had a quick look on Google the other day. The entire Glazers' empire is on the brink of collapse in the USA. Everything they have is invested in two businesses. One firm runs retail malls but mostly in very poor locations while the other firm is based on commercial property. Both sides of their empire have essentially collapsed because of Covid. Most of their locations were struggling before. They are also up to their necks in huge debt. United is their only cash cow. If they can't sell the Rags then they are doomed. It's a great story but not one you'll see in the UK media. It's madness. The rags are in the same boat bailing out shopping malls in mid west America.

*Forget to mention that the whole family company was originally founded years ago on the profits from the oil business!
Exactly my point from my post about this yesterday, mate.Under FFP UEFA tried to ban City for two years with a huge fine because they thought our owner had topped up one of our sponsor payments with £67.5m of his own money. That's why there is so much opposition to the Saudi's buying Newcastle. If United were being bought by a Saudi Prince the press would be lauding it.downside is a sale will only help the rags out, really could do with the Sheikh buying their debt up and sending them to the wall.
Seems such a simple thing to do.Read the report that came out on Monday and talk sense.https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/jurgen-klopp-co-were-wrong-22374060

Good to see Robbie being one of the few that gets it.

FFP, in its cartel-crafted iteration, is near the exact opposite of what is needed to ensure sustainability for clubs and stability for the game as a whole.
I have a sneaking feeling the tide is starting to turn in the media ahead of Monday and following khaldoons "peace talks" with uefa that I think were "get with our programme, leave us alone and recognise what we're really doing for football community and the city, or else we're going to get really fucking pissed off and go nuclear" talks.https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/jurgen-klopp-co-were-wrong-22374060
