Eric Garcia to Barcelona

What consequences ?

He seems to think that if Pep left Garcia on the bench/stnads if a. deal wasnt done then it would spoil Peps relationship with Barca for when he eventualy wants to return

He seems to be missing the point that that relationship may have been spoilt already by the antics of Barca since Pep left especially recently where Pep has called out the actions of them in his press conferneces and strongly hinted that he knew Barca had not been "clean" themselves in previous dealings/running of the club.

He also seems to miss the point that Pep will still return to Barca at some point regardless of what happens with Garica so leaving Garcia on the bench wouldnt be an issue - in fact he has already dropped him for the biggest game of the season so far (Madrid).

The only way Garcia stays here and plays significant minutes next season is if:

1. We sell John Stones due to an offer we cant refuse or the player indicates he wants to go for a fresh start.
2. Significant injuries to other players meaning we have no choice.
3. Rotation for lower level cup games.

Stones' comments seem to suggest he's staying. ( I'd prefer Stones going straight on the pitch after an all night bender than Garcia anyhow ).

What kind of dick, would think Pep would give a flying fuck about some wankers being a bit upset because he doesn't kick up a fuss with the bosses, to give them a player on a platter ?

Ffs! What sort of people would they be, if they let something like that bother them ? As if.

Old Sepp Blather is living in an alternative fucking universe, perviously only inhabited by rags & scousers.

The only problem with Garcia leaving is, it seems to suggest Pep will not sign an extension, other than that. we do not keep players who want to leave, Garcia leaving for his boyhood club, after spending years gaining experience in a foreign club with a top manager,it should bode well for getting into the Barca squad, which will bode well for the reputation of City`s Academy and that is worth more than the fee we will get for a player not as good as Savic or Denayer, in my view

Cards are in our hand, we dont need to do Barca or Garcia any favours. Worst case scenario he sits I'm the reserves and his development is stunted considerably. To those Barca fans lurking thinking he wouldnt be shut out of the first team, my response would be to remind them that his decision has already cost him his starting place against Madrid.

if he were to leave next season, am i right in thinking we would receive a "development compensation" payment, ok it would be considerably less than him being sold this window but regardless we would get something?

yes its true...we will get a ticket for an open bus guided tour of Barcelona, a snow globe of La Familia Segrada, a 20% off voucher for tapas at La Boqueria, and a signed Lionel Messi shirt (priceless).

;)

The most important thing here is our reputation, the money is irrelevant, what we do now will be watched by every 16 year old in the world, paving that path will broken bottles will not go down well for our youth recruitment. Sancho going to Dortmund was not about first team selection he could have got that anywhere, but it was a proven path to Barca, Garcia going to Barca is good for City just as Suarez was and Diaz to Real was, we are getting a reputation for getting our youth into top sides. this is not Sane leaving it is a youth player

They can fuck off the cheap skates, who the fuck do they think they are, tick tock

It does raise the question of whether it's worth keeping him to his contract for that amount. Another season of a settled centre back who knows the system, 13.5m won't get us that.

‘Unlikely‘ is the key word. It’ll get up to 15 (add ons) and he can toodle along, but Barcelona will have been seen to have crossed the fabled line. Disrespectful...
