I think we did similar to Patrick Roberts. Wasn't his cousin on here and he was told when he signed he wouldn't be loaned out?
Yep - for the good of the player, and to give him a chance to resurrect his career, we really need to let him go.
He’s clearly got something - but not at our level, so there’s little point in keeping him tied to the club any longer.
The Pellegrini era was an absolute shit show for our Academy - no question.
But that’s what you get when you employ a stop-gap. Why should he build for someone else’s future, when he’s going to be judged on his own present. Leads to short-termism - which is the only way to rationalise the Denayer/Demichelis decision.
