Can someone translate this please.Once in a decade Barcelona was known the be good, then Bartomeu come and strike his force soured up to se his team lose 8-2 to Bayern.
And I am saying I have it on good authority that merely reigning in the wage bill is not sufficient.Imo, stretched is like a Milan AC club. Barça is still investing 100 M+ every year on the market. Of course, they are taking loans because they have no cash but banks are giving them the money anyway because of their commercial turnover.
They really just need to reign in their wage bill.
I love Foden but it would be a very big decision to play him against this Bayern side. Maybe as a winger but we just watched de jong get turned inside out trying to defeat that press. It’s be a big ask of such a young player on a big stage.
I would hope we’d setup better and be more energetic against Bayern but we need to respect what we just saw. That Barca side is remarkably similar to ours and Bayern have precisely the clinical edge we lack. Barca had a chance to take a lead there in the first half but squandered a few then watched Bayern pummel them. The small mistakes which have plagued us this season simply cannot happen if we make it to play them.
And they just exchanged Arthur for Pjanic (30+ y.o)It won’t completely save them. I have it on good authority that they have significant cash flow issues, even apart from Messi’s contract.
Some of that is due to the impact of COVID, but quite a lot of it is due to poor financial management and recruitment decisions over the past few years.
If they let that result go to their heads they'd be foolish. And I don't have them down as foolish. That performance was largely due the state of their opponents. If they played a team like us Liverpool or PSG they could have quite easily have been 4-1 down in the first 12 minutes. Barca should have been winning that game early doors albeit playing atrociously themselves.
the size of the victory may play into our hands.. yes riding the crest of a wave and confidence is one thing but hopefully the fact they won by such a great margin playing like that will lull them into a false sense of security.
play that high line against us and we or Should I say Eddie will murder them.
We have an absolute cheat code against that Bayern set up.. surely they won’t play like that against us though and will sacrifice high press / risk reward for a more measured approach. Would be suicide if not.. I want them to play exactly like they did tonight.
I like the cut of your jib. Btw I am concerned and impressed by what I saw tonight but am comforted by your wise words. You can rest easy knowing that no matter how many of you on here think your fight is hopeless, your team won't read any of it and will step on the pitch to fight it all the way. And no matter how many of you think you shouldn't be very concerned after all, your team won't read any of it and will never underestimate the match they're gonna face.
We have to beat Lyon first. We need to start on the front foot on full gas. If we do we're capable of giving BM an 8-2 drubbing.
I honestly wish I could share more but trust me when I say I have no reason to post this apart from sharing what I can for this discussion, shared with me by someone close to my family that works for Barca.I believe they have cash flow issues. We know that they are making such losses and the wages/revenue are so hight that the board actually arranged the artur/pjanic swap in order to just avoid failing a rule which would have meant each boardmember having to pay 2m euros each fine.
I find it hard to believe those issues would not be resolved by €100m a year being taken off the books on top of a transfer fee though. We are after all talking about 15-20% of revenue going to Messi.
Yep. One game at a time. Personally I don’t fancy us against Bayern with our defence. You never know though.
I believe you about the cash injections but they are doing this almost every other year under Bartomeu and still invest in the market : de Jong, Griezmann last year. And I am saying I have it on good authority that merely reigning in the wage bill is not sufficient.
They will be making significant financial moves in the coming months, including substantial cash injections (taking advantage of incredibly low cost financing available to them).
I very much doubt they'll put 7 past us.it will be a high scoring game based on how we both play. I fancy us to beat them, really do.
Messi going off the books would actually completely save them financially, he costs them minimum €100m/year without bonuses, and he always gets bonuses.
Barca were shit. Can someone translate this please.
The scale of these injections are different, hence my emphasis.I believe you about the cash injections but they are doing this almost every other year under Bartomeu and still invest in the market : de Jong, Griezmann last year.
No pacy players out wide? This will be a tough one for city. We do not have pacy players out wide to stretch the field therefore davis will be bombing forward all day knowing he can track back. We could use the pace of Sane right about now. Fingers crossed that if we get past Lyon we play one hell of a perfect game against Bayern. We can't play Rodri and Gundogan in midfield together which will make us a bit slow in the midfield. Fernandinho is susceptible to balls over the top. We need a hail mary here, Lord.
miss the game watched the snooker but wow 8.2 ?? sounds like barca folded and are they finished ? they will be big changes in Barcelona and even messi could leave ? or become player manager
