I reckon Pep could make it work, don't you? Seemed to go well the first time.

I'm 50/50 on the transfer myself, @tolmie's hairdoo has said the club had sponsors lined up to cover the whole deal and make it profitable financially but I would quite like to win it without him at least before he came in, and it would fuck with a lot of our players - Aguero's probably benched, KDB sees a lot less of the ball etc.

But it's ridiculous that people think he's not good enough when he's just come off a season that represents the best season of Aguero's goalsoring and KDB's assisting combined.
That was 11 years ago though. When Messi was approaching this prime. Not now that he is on the slow but sure decline.

He's just moving into a different part of his career. Goals are going down, assists and chances created are skyrocketing (to literally record breaking levels).

Would be mad to pass up the opportunity if it did become available - I don't think it will.

Its a bit of an oddity in that if he did leave there aren't many big European teams I see him going to, somehow City do feel like the correct "fit" with the style and people at the club who know him well. Outside of that obviously Argentina, but too early for that.

I expect he'll see out his career at Barca sadly - not least that its a shame they look like they'll need a year or 2 to rebuild after horrible recruitment in all areas.

Barca had an awful game but to question messi is an overreaction. The match could of been 3-1 if the messi cross had gone in. We have been steam rolled like this in the past by the tyre thief’s. I am Not saying they would of won. Messi at city would be immense. We have come along way in 10 years and no city fan if being honest would say no to messi. The greatest player the sport has ever seen. Even if he was in a Zimmer frame he would still smash it. Anyway never going to happen. All greats come to an end.

The team is a busted flush, so it's hard to see if Messi still has something special to offer. He was shit tonight and against Liverpool last year. My feeling is his time has been and gone..

It would be similar to when Cristiano Ronaldo left for Juventus. Too much money for a player who is on the decline. He isn't the same player.

I can't believe there are people here that one single game made them forget 15 years of art. Lionel Messi is the greatest player in the history of football and *still* the best player in the world. I wish he would come to City.
