Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

No semi finals in 4 years. Would Bayern, Barca or Madrid keep their coach in these circumstances.
If we are aspiring to be an elite club then we shouldn't either
If any one of them can look Pep in the eye and say they’ve not made a massive mistake that has cost us while at City with a straight face, then they are better liars than I give them credit for. They have all fucked up ar times, with the exceptions of Ake and Torres, and they will at some point. And if they get funny with the manager, he’d be justified in ramming their own mistakes right back at them.

Ederson v united and lyon
Fernandinho v Newcastle
Laporte v Tottenham and lyon
Sterling v Burnley and lyon
De Bruyne v everton
Jesus v lyon and so many offsides

I could go on, but I think you get the picture. They are all human and make errors. You win together and you lose together.

Come on,City, use this pain and win the lot next season.

Been a weird season.

Has had an air of half arsedness about most of it.

It all seems a bit too cosy in the dressing room.if i am being honest

Same players starting every game, whilst some are unfairly hooked and benched, rotated.

That first Leg of the Milk Cup at the swamp sort of summed up our season.First half we ripped them a new arsehole. We could have been 5-0 up at half time.

They came out in the second half with a totally different mind set.Backed off, gave then a reprieve.

We should have picked up where we left off,but we didn't,Pep says he never told them to back off,but the team did.not venturing forward, conserving energy. It all looked deliberate.

we went in to Derby the same way.It was like they just were not that arsed.Yet we knew we were more than capable of destroying them.Fans picked up on it,but were labelled small time mentality. We had bigger Fish to fry.

And that for me has been the story of the season.Always saving for bigger games.

Who knows maybe that came in to play last night.

Maybe in our mind Lyon was beat, one Eye on Bayern a bigger game.

Hope he stays. He's the best about and I'd love to see him given the chance to right the wrongs of this season.
I'd like to think the club won't be as mental as a fair few fans and overreact to an admittedly poor performance.

Please stay Pep we’re not worthy of you oh mighty one. If you stay another 5 years you might manage to win a couple of the really big games. Also it would probably take another 5 years to think up such a strange team as last night again.

He's lucky to have us

I disagree. Lyon fully deserved to go through. But had the Stirling chance gone in, and we went through, we'd have done it by working hard and scoring fairly, and controlling chunks of the game. which isn't a travesty.

Not even getting into the VAR decision, because pre var, that would have been a goal all day long. As i moan about var overturning decisions on a pixel, won't complain about this one. Could have gone our way, but if roles were reversed i'd be saying not enough in it to rule out a goal.

The margins were elsewhere, and didn't happen. The tactics and set-up didn't help.
Agreed - travesty was probably a bit OTT on my behalf.

The better team on the night won........

If he stays, he needs a strong assistant who will say to him: "Look mate, pick a team that plays to our strengths. Do not analyse to the point of paralysis."
If Pep persists...." No, mate, think again."
And maybe one who knows how to organise a defence.

His constant "were are not yet ready to win the Champions league" or " we have little of no history in europe" is pissing me off.
We as a club have spent hundreds of millions on the world's best players, have the best facilities available, have hired the "world's best coach" yet he knocks us down all the time, why?

If I was Khaldoon, baldy would be in my office Monday morning for a serious chat, and sign on the dotted line (contract extension) or adios and gracias.

Wonder what his excuse was at Bayern because he couldn't pull that shit there. All the signs are there they have been all season. Do his Barca boys have the bottle or does Khaldoon?

I think all 4 need to sit down and plan his exit strategy to save face.

Does Tikix go as well? I am sure Ferran is in for the long term with the CFG ( his baby) .

But tomorrow morning I hope all 3 are sat in front of Khaldoon and sort this mess out, because it is a mess.

Last night was embarrassing, after the decision at CAS things were looking up and that should have motivated everyone at that club to go and win the trophy and shove it UEFA's proverbial.

This morning the world of football looks on and sniggers again, and rightly so.

F.H.Lee was right, if there was a cup for cock ups we would be champions.

I think some fans get too emotionally attached to managers.

Football is a unique environment. It is a constantly evolving sport.

New managers come along, with new radical ideas, they bring different concepts with them.

Pep idea of how the game should be played was radical when he first came in to management.

It has delivered us domestic success beyond our wildest dreams.

Now unfortunately his style is starting to look a bit stale, and in need of an overhaul. As more and more teams figure out how to combat it.

We wanted to replicate Barcelona yesterday, hence why Pep is our manager.Tomorrow we will want to replicate Bayern Munich.

Just the way the game is.

Maureen looks like an old Dinosaur today.Pep Star is fading also.

No room for sentiment in football.

It’s looking like we are going into next season with Pep in his last year with us. Normally this results in a car crash of a season as seen with Pellegrini when announced he was leaving in February and even Slurgie when he announced he was off only to change his mind.

How do we avoid these mistakes of the past, a few dodgy results early on next year and the knives will be out for Pep. Speculation will be rife on his successor and will be a side show all year.

Who do we want next...

someone like Pochetino who hasn’t won anything yet but had a decent record at Spurs

perhaps Nagglesman who looks to be the next best thing but at 33 could get swallowed up by a move to a big club

a complete change in philosophy with Simeone

this is the problem we face, there is only a downward step after Pep Guardiola , the last 4 years are probably as good as it will ever get for us

I expect PiGMOL will do to us what they did to get rid of Mourinho at Chelsea if they get wind he's leaving. They wouldn't want him going out on a high.

Expect lots of what the fuck decisions on the first 10 matches.

I don't think he will mind.

He has unfinished business with us.

Yes!! I would!! In a heartbeat!

fair enough - i would rather play the most attractive football the league has ever seen, win lots of domestic cups/titles on the way and if we can get a bit of luck (which is also what you need) keep cracking away at the CL. However the CL is put on a pedestal by the media (higher than the world cup when they are talking about what players have won what -for instance David Silva - which astounds me). i also recognise that the owners want the CL but as a fan (and this for me has never changed ever( the domestic comps (esp the league) is always the first and foremost.

I would not want otwin it for instance the way Chelsea last did in one of the most boring games i have ever witnessed

Louis van Gaal although that would an interim appointment until we find someone more suitable.

If the rumours are true it's Pochettino, many whispers we have paid him a retainer (true or not, who knows)

If he is the man the club think is right, they have a big decision to make and very quickly.

Barca job is available.

I said it after the arsenal game and have been worried by it all season but you can't really say much on here without getting pelters. The signs are so obvious it's hilarious others don't see it.

Like Mourinho the stubbornness and total belief in what he is doing was once a great strength but is now killing him. His time has passed unless he changes but he cannot see it. Neither can our own supporters.

We will win plenty of games next season with him in charge because of the ability of our players. We will also lose more than we should. If he doesn't adapt him being here next year will be a big mistake.
