Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

I agree with a lot of your recent posts mate but we are nowhere near as talented as that Barca side. We’ve had squads that were but not currently. Only KDB and peak Silva and Aguero would’ve got into that team from our current squad.
Thinking about it, your very right, but still Pep's beliefs have changed so much in the Champions League here and at Bayern.
It's almost as if his confidence is shot in this competition.

When you do good at your job do you get praise? When you do shit do you get bollocked? I'm never sure what these kind of points try to achieve - it's the same for every footballer and manager. Guardiola is one of the greatest ever but he's not above criticism, especially when there are obvious trends.
Agree
Just seems to get it from both sides that’s all
I wish we had a starting 11 we knew

I loved the guy, much prefer him to Pep as a man, BUT he is and was not a great manager.

I will never forget the way he stood up to Ferguson and tearing down that banner.

But he should never be compared with Pep.

Why should he not be compared? This narrative that Peo is some God is the problem.Mancini’s record with Lazio, City and Italy suggests he is a great manager.

What Pep did last night was worse than Pellers standing with his hands in his pockets not going for it when we needed a goal to go through in the semi. Pep consistently fucks up in big games and last night was truly pathetic

Forums, twitter full of expert managers . Pep has made a mistake or two and we hopefully will benefit from him putting this right. Apart from Klopp there is no one else, players like Sterling, De Bruyne, Jesus are close to their peak thanks to Pep. Hes a good man and i for one am still proud to have him as our manager. Some of the stuff last night, post match is entitled garbage and twitter is littererd with fake scouse shite. Im an old git now so not as emotional as some especially as the Agueroooooo moment cannot be bettered , i do however have a stubborn desire to see upstart scousers, rags and bayern schooled by a Pep team asap.

How can you say he wasn’t good enough?

What has he done since to show he was? He peaked in 2012 and his style of play only works when we actually win trophies because otherwise it was just insipid. Might have bought himself a bit more time if he wasn't an arsehole but he turned everyone against him.

People just get nostalgic because of what he won us at a time when we weren't winning anything. Oh and he had a pair of bollocks.

What's he done with Italy? Lazio what?

He is a short term bully almost a handsome Italian version of Nigel Pearson.

He never lasts long, loses the dressing room.

When you consider the thousands of hours that Pep has played and watched in his career, after last nights performance, sometimes you wonder what he sees.It cried out for pace in the mid field,it neededguys who were not hampered by their Zimmer frames.why could he not see and do the relevant substitutions.

Pep looked agitated last night. The team is not performing how he expects. I don’t know what it is going to take for him to admit that gundo, fern are finished. He has admitted it with oto and stones but can’t seen to pull the trigger on these 2. He has bunch of credit in the bank for how he has handled cas result and how we have performed over the last 2 years. Everyone needs a break and we get ready to go again. Lessons need to be learned.

At the very least he needs to promote silva and foden to the starting 11. Give them a chance to cement and take over the mantle.

He’s been here four years and is running at 50-50. Two absolutely legendary seasons and two embarrassing shit shows.
He has some big decisions to make about his lack of ruthlessness and his apparent mistrust of pace

Slept on it, calmed down in the fresh air this morning and want him to sign an extension.

If he doesn’t we’ll replace him with another quality coach and build again.

Before posting in this thread, posters should be required to read pages 1-25. Half of those wanting to string Pep up for yesterday's mess would have gladly allowed him to use their blood to sign a new contract 10 days ago.
He got it wrong, it happens.
It does happen you’re right. Trouble is, it happens to Pep in the CL, every season. Gundogan, Rodri and Fernandinho. When was that ever tried?
The real frustration for me is that we battered them for the last half an hour after completely wasting the first hour. We made Madrid look very ordinary 4 days earlier. I can’t decide if it was panic about Lyon or arrogance in thinking we could prepare something different readiness for Munich. I do know that you should probably go 2 or 3 up, then start experimenting and not the other way round.

And I said it already maybe happening, but you would never know
But that misses the whole point. It’s not about what I know, it’s about what should happen / have happened. If it has happened, great. If not, it should. You can try to be a smart arse but it doesn’t change the fact that he is the cause of another ko defeat. Have the players got the balls to stand up to him? I bloody hope so.

What would we have to moan about if we won all the time anyway. I was so angry and annoyed last night but it is a new challenge to build a new and improved team. Let’s just hope the new players step up and we don’t see gundo or fern again. Quick point if pep really believed Phil and Bernardo were ready they wld of played. What is he seeing that we are not?
