Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Yes. Lu replied to Cheeseman's tweet with "no".

Pretty succinct and to the point. I asked someone I know who works at the club too, and their response was "nonsense" to the idea that Pep had agreed to sign a new deal.

I think those conversations will be had over the next two weeks rather than them having already happened and everything decided.
As if someone at the club would dismiss the question about pep extending as 'nonsense'.
A very well itk poster on here with previous correct info has said defender + pep next week.
Make of that what you will.

This contract situation needs resolving one way,or another ASAP.

We can not let speculation, lead to instability and undermine the whole season.

makes no sense to finance a manager who will walk in 12 months.

It is in both Pep,and our interests for this to be resolved now.

I think waiting for December for this situation to clear does not make sense for anyone. And unless something major has happened behind the scenes, City are not daft to announce any major decision in December just before the season gets real knockout stages begin.

Agreed commit to another three seasons or go now.

If a decision is made on his future it needs to be at the start of season not halfway through one. The uncertainty going into a season not knowing the manager is staying or going is just going to fuck another season up.

The longer it goes on the less likely he stays imho, not that I’m hugely bothered either way tbh.

December? That would be taking the piss somewhat.
Thats my first thought.

We are going through a period of transition.

We need to replace some big players.

You dont heavily finance a manager going in 12 months.

Might as well wait, and waste a season.

The Barca boys believe in continuation so the signings may or may not have Peps appproval. I think all 3 of them know for certain what is going to happen.

I can't see city letting it drag on until December. Perhaps pep is waiting to see what shape the squad is in after the summer first. If we back him in the market he could extend by a year or two.

And you can keep trying to batter anyone into submission with absolute shite. It won’t work on me. You’re wrong. Pep was wrong. We deservedly lost and it’s on him no matter how much you try and suck him off because you believe he’s infallible.

We deservedly lost. We would have lost playing 433 as well and there's a whole season's worth of evidence to back it up.

I don't know if it's misplaced arrogance, or wilfull stupidity that makes you think this time, unlike all the other times we played similar teams, we'd have been fine, but it would be nice to hear your reasoning why Lyon wouldn't have done what United (twice), Wolves (twice) and Arsenal did to us instead of just screaming abuse like a child.

Yes you are right.

We all knew Pep was coming a good 18 months before he arrived. And it was rumored our signings had been given Pep approval.

I am worried we have no firm plans in place for Pep replacement in 12 months though.

I think this is why the Club want to resolve the Pep contract issue one way,or another, with Pochetinho still available.

They dont want to be left in the shit in 12 months time.

Just my opinion.

Even if Pep just agrees to a further 1 year extension. It give us a year to find a replacement.

As a self confessed 'fan boy' of his I'd love him to be here for the next decade.
That said, for the good of the club moving forward he has to commit to an extention in the next couple of weeks or we will go into a new season with too many questions being asked and a situation where the will he/won't he scenario will potentially impact us.
Love you Pep, but it's time for a decision.

After Saturday night something fundamentally changed in how I see Pep. You do it once, you'll do it again.
He'd already done it 3 times before in the Champions League.

I was saying to my mates when Lyon got through, our biggest obstacle to winning the game was not Lyon, but Pep overthinking it.

At 6.59 on Saturday I was at 90% we were going to win the game. At 7.01 after the team sheet was out, I was at 50%.

He was directly responsible for the loss, and he should hold his hands up to that.

He's got to make a decision now before the season starts, otherwise it will be playing on the players minds and would fuck our season up. Come on Pep make a decision now, it's not hard you must know buy now what you are going to do, so come on Pep tell the club what you are going to do, so it will put the players minds and the fans minds at rest.
