Sounds like we might be on...

Bartomeu can't resign, because he needs to balance the finances before next March or he and the board become personally liable for the deficit. So if it's Barto or Messi going, Bartomeu won't jump because it'll cost him millions.

I didn't know that. My fear is a power play by Messi for the board to resign.

I half expected it after the Bayern result and was shocked it didn't come then?

Laporte is backing the other presidential candidate but there is clearly something rotten behind the scenes between Messi going all the way back to the Abidal fiasco.

He has a clause that allows him to leave for free. Don’t get all the talks on here about an enormous transfer fee

I suppose the only slight concern if he really is pushing to move is that his reps got in touch with several clubs.

If Messi is available on a free. Then it's a no brainer. I know his wages are insane but without a transfer fee it would definitely be worth it. Even at his age.

If we have to pay a big transfer fee, then i'm not sure it's worth it. And should just invest the resources on a long-term Aguero replacement.

Think there were questions surrounding the clause and how the prolonged season will have affected it. Imagine signing him on a free though lol

One of the things I love about this forum is that in the middle of a thread about how the all time greatest footballer is being heavily linked with us, and when he's just dropped a bomb on his current club, we're talking about where we go shopping Never change City.
