But refusing to take a Covid test is probably not in his contract. If the implications of this are that under Spanish law / Spanish FA rules, he can't train.... just maybe Messi and / or his legal people are being very clever

they are proving a point, just because somethings not written specifically in a COVID situation, it doesn’t mean it isn’t the right thing. They are using COVID as an excuse to ignore his clause, he is now using it as an excuse to not train. Great tactical move.
