I am giddy about signing Messi. My mind changed because he has expressed a desire to leave, and a deal now makes sense. Formerly it would have broken City's bank to sign him. I wanted us to do the Mbappe deal a couple of years ago because time was on his side. In the case of Messi he has a limited time left at which he can win the top honours in football. I think that's why he wants to play for City and Guardiola because he knows Pep will be able to use him properly.
