Messi's position at Barca is looking untenable. A sad end for him at Barca but there is now a serious opportunity to work with Aguero and Pep again. With European history still to be made at our club could provide him with the perfect move both professionally, personally and financially.

I am sure the benefits of him leaving is outweighing his reasons to stay at the moment.

His departure would be the end of the current hierarchy. Him staying only strengthens the current board which I am sure he doesn't want.

Its now or never

The cheek to compare present Leo to Lamps at any juncture in his career or some champion being put out to stud or only for marketing. Infantile assessments but that's the current climate in football fandom
He’s 33. Anyone who doesn’t start their assessment of a move with that in mind is the one being infantile.

yeah but I’d much rather Messi arriving a year younger with a chip on his shoulder than turning up for a holiday with Pep and Txixi. That’s my worry here for the money involved.
Why would it be a holiday? If he's the model pro we all think he is he'll come here and prove not only to himself that he's still got the skills to pay the bills but prove his doubters wrong who are lining up to shoot him down.

And all 3 at some point rushing back to Barca to save their beloved club!

Ok let’s say he went to Liverpool. I’d take that point with no complaints, even though I’d be dubious about doing the deal. But it’s Pep. What’s he really got to prove to Pep? Nothing, they’ve done it all.
I totally get the romance of this, but if it’s not a free transfer it’s a crazy deal to do. We’d be paying for it 4 years down the line when Messi has retired and is on the beach.
i’d be interested to see if folk were given a choice of Mbappe or Messi who they’d choose today.Or Haaland for 50 mil and a quarter the wages.
Again, last year I’m not arguing. For me, he’s too old to have a long term value past 12 months(yes, feel free to screen grab this and haunt me in 2023 lol)
