TV Series

Just got into Toast of London.

Daft, bizarre, cringey and funny.

Very easy watching for anyone who enjoyed the likes of Peep Show and Phone Shop.
Toast of Londons brilliant , the voice overs , running joke , "yes i can hear you Clem Fandango" are classic , the nuclear submarine and the one with him and Ray Purchase dubbing the gay porn film , are some of the funniest things seen on tv over the last ten years..

Started watching Dirty John season 2 yesterday. Two episodes in and I hate it.
The wife will still want to watch it so I hope it gets better.
We just watched that. For me it got more interesting, I'd no idea what happened eventually as I'd never heard of her.
But the story did develop into something I could watch, in the end quite liked it.
I was surprised at what happened.

Just watching the Salisbury poisoning, pretty good so far.
I don't know who's worse in this world, fucking Russia or China.

298 passengers on MH17
Poor bastards.

I've only recently discovered Toast as well and completely agree with that summary. It's a ridiculous show... I love it!
Some brilliant cameos later on as well. John Nettles taking up poaching after his career goes tits up, Michael Ball as the enforcer for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s loan sharking operation, John Hamm turning Toast bi-curious...

Watched another two last night and it was better. I don't hate her anymore.

Season 3 of Ozark is getting interesting. Have no idea how its gonna play out but christ they hate each other.

Last night started What We Do In The Shadows. A spoof vampire sitcom I suppose. Quite funny, hoping it progresses on an upward curve to be funny, then really funny, then unmissable, then up there with The Wires & The Breaking Bads of this world. But I doubt it!

Am currently working my way through Homeland, a series that I imagine most people have already seen, and am just over half way through Season 2.

Although the acting in the series is first-rate and the story lines have been compelling so far, the notion that al-Qaeda and Hezbollah are in cahoots has subtracted all credibility from this season for me. The only reason I am sticking with it is because the psychology of the characters makes them compelling.

It’s such a shame that an otherwise reasonably intelligent, fairly entertaining drama has got something so basic wrong.

There are so many good TV series around at the moment, sadly some are coming to an end and there will be a void to fill, but i really like (and love in some cases) the below series

Breaking Bad - Concludes the coming series - starts August 2013
Dexter - Concludes the coming series - Starts June 2013
Homeland - ongoing - next series September 2013
Boardwalk Empire - 4th series announced - no date as yet
The Walking Dead - ongoing - 4th series announced - no date yet
Game of Thrones - currently in series 3 - announced for 4 (also 5 and 6)
Hannibal - first series ongoing - announced for second series more planned
Luther - 3rd series announced - late 2013
Sherlock - 3rd series announced - late 2013
24 - new series announced - 2014

Anymore i should be watching or have missed off??

'Harrow' was excellent on the Drama channel.

I watched this in the last 12 months pretty much back to back. First 2 series are probably the best and the last 2 are right up there. It does dip a bit in the middle but stick with it.

Thanks for the heads up. I am intending to stick with it. Aside from the fact that al-Qaeda would never collaborate with Hezbollah, as Salafi-jihadists regard Shia Muslims as apostates, it’s been pretty good so far.

In many respects it reminds me of the impressive French series, The Bureau.

It’s not bad and has a great cast but the original New Zealand film was funnier imo
