I think it's shoddy treatment of Barca's best ever player. Imagine if Kun was in same situation and wanted to leave. I am 100% sure Soriano would just let him go after the loyalty and service he has given us. We'd have give him a great send off and wished him luck. No way would we say you can't go and keep an unhappy player. Messi's heart isn't going to be in it, whatever he says.
I think by going to the press and saying they haven't kept their word is trying to get the public opinion on his side, and common decency prevails and they say let him go, why keep an unhappy player
 
When someone says to me they think Ronaldo is a better footballer than Messi, in my head I instantly think “ you’re a United fan “ or “ you’re not really that knowledgeable about football “

A slight advantage however there are other factors that will go against us which have been discussed in this thread
 
I hope we don't lose Messi, (and Pep?), to Juve or PSG when he completes this last year of his contract.
We need to get Pep to extend his contract with us very soon.
