Phil Foden to leave England camp

So a young lad has dropped a bollock and you are judge, jury and executioner ? Can he not learn and grow as a man or are you not giving him that chance ?
I’ve got a young lad who plays football and hasn’t dropped a bollock. What’s annoying is the build up to the game when he’s being interviewed about taking his chance to play for the first team blah blah.. There are around 40 odd staff representing England in that tour and those two idiots decided to take the piss. No sympathy whatever the punishment is I’m afraid. If his partner is built like Giant Haystacks then that’s worse when he opens the front door

On reflection I realise my posts have been very negative and very abrupt on this thread and pretty dismissive of Phils "reasons or mental state" by fellow posters but we have all suffered betrayal in our lives and it makes you very strict and confrontational on personal views of infidelity so my apologies. My father with a bird at work to my mother was my experience. Tore my family apart. Hence why my emphasis is on his poor mrs and baby. I imagine fellow blues have had their run ins with this kind of thing too and also been affected. My question now though is as punishment goes the club and country can not really do anymore than tell him he's an irresponsible fool and fine him but what do blues actually wanna see done because there isn't really much more can be done? From a personal standpoint he is a City player and that is about as far as my support now goes for him. I love City and will support him in our colours but him personally no. Don't get me wrong I loved Phil because I thought he was a genuine down to earth lad and being a blue he was living the dream we could all only imagine and he was "one of our own" but this, nah.

Understand how you feel mate but it’s not clear exactly what he has actually done yet. On what I’ve seen he didn’t seem to instigate this.

he must be full of regret & hopefully has learnt his lesson. Perhaps he shouldn’t be judged too harshly by us just because it recalls other people’s mistakes.
He has let so many people down & it’s irretrievable. He was so happy to be playing for England & must now be so deflated (probably deservedly).
However, as I say - we don’t really know the full facts. Everyone deserves a second chance if they show remorse

Can we please stop this bollocks? Foden was the instigator. He’s the one who had the direct contact. He’s the one who invited them round. He’s the one on the phone.

To put it to rest, here’s a clearer video of who they were contacting via Snapchat.

Might be fake - the girl concerned insists she hasn’t leaked anything to press so how do we know this is bone fide

No pandemic regulations then I expect ?

There were Two girls. One of them has said that it wasn't her that leaked the video.

But she knew it was being filmed on her friends phone. Didn’t hear her objections - just a lot of posturing & posing.

Sounds like a combination of the lockdown restrictions, being away on tour, and loneliness have affected Phil's mental wellbeing to the point where he's made a poor decision.

There's actually a great film on the loneliness of fame and being alone in a foreign land called Lost In Translation.

In the film, Bill Murray's character is lost in the giant metropolis of Tokyo, wrestling with his fame and inner demons, and finds companionship and escape by courting Scarlett Johanssen's character.

Seeing the film from Murray's perspective, the audience gives little thought to the fact that he's a married man, and empathises with the very real, very troubling pitfalls of his situation.

I think it's a very modern tale that might just give a bit more context to Phil's actions.
Total bolox that.
I must say the kid while way out of order should be cut a bit of slack. Learning curve hopefully.

Look on the positive... maybe this happening at such an early point in his career could turn out to be a good thing.... bet he'll never do anything so naïve or stupid again

I was just trying to explain to the poster that seems to think there was only one girl.
Yeah 2 girls, and showing it to mates on social media, little wonder it got out really.

Still very stupid of the pair though, especially on their first full international call up, in the middle of some very unusual circumstances in the world, and in a country that has been very careful to keep it out, and still posts single numbers of cases most days, and only 10 deaths, the last in April. Perhaps they should have had more concern for their hosts ?

Phil won't sleep well tonight, well he shouldn't.

Not gonna defend him or make.excuses for him, but when I was 19/20 it was the first time I did 3 months traveling roind south east asia with a mate and there may have been the odd time we would have ended up with some lasses of our age met while in our hotel for the night, that didn't automatically mean we were shagging owt just drinking and having a laugh. And I plenty of other mates of that age going to spain for two weeks and shagging about, no excuse, but the follly of youth and being away, so I and many others are in no position to judge.

He has a wife and child so should know better, but this is a young lad who has made a mistake and should be left to sort it out privately.

On the covid aspect, then yes stupidity at it's hoghest to meet random strangers in a pandemic, the silly twat.

On a side note imagine if smartphones had been about in andy dibble and clayton blackmores time, fuck me they would be some footage about ;-)
