Ahh, thought the BBC had made another remake. Yeah sounds like the same one. Fantastic TV if you're into that genre.

If anyone likes Australian drama, quality directing, acting and filming (not to mention the rather lovely Sarah Snook), check out Beautiful Lie on Amazon Prime. It’s a remake of Tolstoys Anna Karenina set in present day Melbourne. A one off series with six episodes. Best thing I’ve seen since ‘The Inheritance’.

Just watched this mate and it was very good. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
Also just started an Aussie one called Secret City (Netflix), which after one episode looks like it will be very good also.
The drunk brother from Beautiful lie is in it and if you can recognize Dewey Crowe from Justified you win a prize.

Thanks mate. I have always liked Oz films and TV stuff going way back. Just something different from the average US pap. I will certainly give it a look.

Among my favorite series of all time - I think it was Season 3 that dipped in quality but the Finale alone is one of those truly great endings

Totally with you on that - season 3 nearly lost me but the finale was amazing.

Just finished s1 last night and gonna start s2 tonight. I presume its a continuation of the serial killer in s1 as the net was closing in on him. Thought the ending on s1 was a bit weak, but overall enjoyed it.

It gets more ridiculous the further you get in. Some of the plot-holes are the size of Harry Maguire's head.

Babylon Berlin - just watched the first two seasons on DVD. The series is always interesting though demanding too. But stick with it. The seemingly incidental and sometimes bafflingly elusive and occasionally pedestrian details converge together in the last few episodes of Season 2 in a manner that eventually makes for gripping, top-notch drama.

Had to switch this off. Dreadful soppy love story - not my cup of tea (or the missus!!)

Spot on - if you see it as one long story with essentially 3 chapters that helps. I didn’t realise that season one had finished and season 2 had started until a few episodes in to season 2!

Old hat but I've only just got round to Better Call Saul.
Was speaking to someone about this the other day (online) and they said they gave up after season 2 as it wasn't really going anywhere....whilst others absolutely love it. I'm three episodes in Season 2 and really enjoying it after a slow start...

Couple of episodes into Six Feet Under, after it was highly recomended here a few weeks ago. Qwerky. Obviously similar vibes to American Beauty. Think Im going to enjoy it.

It’s amazing, one of the best character based drama‘s that I’ve seen

it’s one of them that leaves a hole when you finish it , kind of like finishing a really good book

I’m just at the end of series 2. Very good but a hard watch at times. The young girl (Katie) getting hooked on him is very disturbing.
