I know we all want to hope that professor and his video was right and this will not escalate to an upturn in deaths.

But the past few days have not bee promising.
You're right these figures don't look good, it makes you wonder if they are tied in with the recent surge in cases in care homes that's being mentioned.

Just tried booking a test for my mum. Can't even fucking get one.
It's barmy this whole testing scenario now. My friend has an 8yr old showing high temp and a cough, she lives in Sth. London and could she get a test? Could she fuck, so the family will sit in for 14 days to isolate. The cynic in me thinks that secretly the govt want herd immunity for us all and making it increasingly difficult to get somewhere to test will speed this baby up. How can they get accurate data if testing is not available? And hospital testing is the only metric they seem to use, the farcical track and trace, even if it's working, is still only optional for us. It should be mandatory for everybody with a mobile, no questions, no human rights arguments, it's embedded into your software and that's that.

No it was a weekly work test
My daughter has a weekly test. On her return from Malta, the other weekend her and her partner had to self isolate for 14 days. She was tested twice in that time with 2 negative results but still had to go the full 14 days. Bizzare.
Incidentally, my wife is also tested weekly but says they don't forward results now unless you've returned positive. Could be a long wait for some.

Here are the regional England details. Those saying that hospital numbers not going up - this says otherwise and seems to be accelerating. And the ventilator beds will lead to more deaths.

This is not a disaster yet but it is not pointing anywhere good.

P Patients yesterday v today V ventilator beds yesterday v today.

East P 21 v 25 AND V 2 v 3

South East P 58 v 68 AND V 3 v 3

London P 97 v 121 AND V 16 v 21

Midlands P 145 v 157 AND V 18 v 21

Yorkshire P 132 v 143 AND V 15 v 16

North West P 193 to 253 AND V 18 v 23

You do not need me to point out these are huge increases in 24 hours in the NW - up 60 patients and 5 ventilator beds.

Bizzare is the right word, she was due to go for this week's test before getting last week's results ffs

The NW has seen patients more than triple in less than 3 weeks - from 77 on 26 August to 253 today.

It has not been higher since 22 July.

Ventilator beds have doubled from 12 to 23 in 8 days. It is two months since we were falling from that level we are at today.

I started today impressed by that video posted here from that scientist about death levels plummeting and want him to be right.

But these numbers are not encouraging. Let's hope he really is a genius.

Like who ?
Its out there, check it out. How and why are death rates plumeting in Eurpope? why has Covid suddenly reduced to near background levels in Manaus? Why are Swedens ongoing figures now looking better than its neighbours. Virus's mutate and generally become less deadly. this one appears to be following that pattern. good news.

that is not the only reason. check out the new scientist article about covid from about 2- 3 weeks ago its pretty interesting. i will post the link if i can find it.

Two or three weeks ago we were going in the right direction. Today we are not.

You might be right. I really hope you are. And if those numbers of patient and ventilator numbers shooting up do not translate into deaths you will be right.

But right now the jury is still out.

I agree the death rate will never be what it was as we are better at handling this virus than we were and will save more lives even before a vaccine. So 1000 deaths a day no. But just single figures like today is not going to be the norm I fear.

Unless you have sources it doesn't mean anything , dr fauci is my main go to and he is putting out the alarm distress, more freely now trump has frozen him out but consistent , he is head of the CDC,this had mutated 33 times early doors with no difference , the world has been in lockdown barr the odd one, that has slowed it and slowed cases and deaths, we have medicines to help people stay off ventilators and death that we didn't have at the start and we have knowledge now, not saying you are completely wrong but it is all of the above which is the main reason

So fox hunting and shooting is exempt from the new 6 rule. wow! another massive cummings shot in their foot moment by this government. Laughable.

I dont make things up, I read up on subjects and share those views on here with others. dont take this the wrong way but perhaps if you widened your research a bit and became a bit more open minded you wouldnt come accross as so self righteous at times?

Warrington now the 6th worst town in the country per 100k people. Incredible the change from 3/4 weeks ago when there were hardly any cases.

It is what has happened to Wigan and Stockport from 0,1 and 2 to 30 in two or three weeks.

Partly due to more testing and more testing of younger age groups who likely had it at the start too when cases were not picked up as being milder they were not a priority for the few tests then around

Now any symptoms you can get a test (if you can find one). Hence far more are being picked up.

And as soon as an area or a nearby area gets high numbers then focusing on an area will generate more positives.

Its a self fulfilling prophecy to a degree.

See Ian Brown's back on it today (and I'm caught in the trap by reposting it ffs...worth if for the comments however).

I don't want to get drawn into having a go a people who don't wear faces masks in the likes of supermarkets (and I'm sure some have genuine reasons) but there was a trio of rum ins in Tesco tonight proudly displaying their naked faces whilst rambling on about 'muzzles'...it's not often Iet angry these days but some people...

Fuck me, didn't think Ian Brown would get caught up in all this bullshit - but here we are....

As an aside hospitalisations in England for covid have risen 182 since Friday from 600 to 782

North west has risen to 253 last Monday it was 164

For two weeks ago for reference it was 430. That's nearly a doubling
