Time to pay what it takes to get the players we need
He is not on Messi's level for starters. Age is another factor against him. A decent stop gap though.

Clearly but Doubt he’s on Messi wages. He is not on Messi's level.
Surely can’t be that bad? I’d be more concerned whether he can do the job. If we’re going down that route I’d get edin back but Pep wouldn’t.Wages?

Not like we are skint mateStill hefty wage demands.

If they were reasonable, sure.Wages?
Danny Ings scored a shit load last season 28 we could easy get 3 years out of him at a decent price. The bigger teams wont let there top strikers go anytime soon. So that rules out most of the big names. Also getting Harry Kane will cost a huge amount. He be the most expensive when you put on the English tax for the players.
Would have had him in a heartbeat at his peak but that would have meant doing business with ADL (I think a lot of the dislike of ADL goes back to Cavani, though I’m not sure we were ever in for him). Ah, the Cavani-Falcao transfer window.Cavani anywhere near his peak would fit this team like a fiddle. He would miss a lot of chances like he has always done, but he would create shed load for himself and others. Might be the most underappreciated striker of the last decade, was a god in Naples but having to do the dirty work for first Zlatan and then Neymar and Mbappe in Paris, and also for Suarez on the international stage has shown his versatility but has held him back in the public eye. He has been a goal scoring machine since he broke through. No brainer on a free if he is still in shape, but can't say I have any idea of his current ability or what effect his age has had on him.
I do agree we need cover though, and preferably someone that pushes both Jesus and Sergio and have the versatility to co-exist in a starting eleven with them
Too late now but the player to bring in this summer was Aubameyang, covers both left wing and striker and is currently absolutely ruthless, would have fitted in our squad seamlessly for a few years. No idea why we wasn’t tapping him up, he would surely have jumped at the prospect of winning something big before his careers over and if he had made it known he wanted to leave there’s not a chance in hell the arsenal board would have risked letting him walk in 12 months for free. Perhaps pep didn’t want to screw Arteta out of his best asset as I’ve no other explanation for why we wasn’t interested.
We won’t bring in anybody now, it will be Jesus until Aguero is fit with sterling upfront as an alternative and we’ll likely see random players upfront in a false 9 for 10-15 minutes of games that are already won to lighten the load. The problem with that is we’re also light on wingers, with just 3 and we’re 1 light on attacking midfielders too. You can get away with being light in one area when you’ve got versatile players but not when you’re already light in other areas, have players who pick up injuries frequently and going into the busiest and most condensed season there has ever been. On a purely bodies basis, we’ve lost silva and sane and got Torres in that leaves us one light in the attacking areas
Not the worse of suggestion but he seems to rely on his speed and at 31 he doesn't have many years left.
Wouldn’t have needed many years from him. 2 good seasons would have been more than enough value. We’ve bought young in Torres, sterlings still young, Jesus still young, were in no immediate risk of needing to replace the whole team as they all hit retirement age, we need somebody for right now and he’s currently the best in this league and before signing a new contract was attainable .
Why wish for more injuries? Common theme here. What if X gets injured? Injuries can happen to anyone. Doesn't mean we have one alternate squad ready. Unless we get back cheap deal somewhere, we don't look for short term fixes, we won't sign a striker this season. It was never on. Aguero is in books and so are Zinchenko Gundogan Bernardo just in case anyone wanted A CM and LBWerner & Aubameyang would have been smart signings & could play on the wing if Aguero or Jesus came back strong. Can only imagine what Pep's going to do if Jesus gets injured. Gundogan false 9?
