Ederson; Walker, Fernandinho, Aké, Mendy; Rodri, KDB, Foden; Torres, Jesus, Sterling.

I think the team will be - Gundogan, Cancelo and maybe Stones instead of Foden , Mendy and Fernandinho.


Worth remembering Gundogan, Aké, Cancelo, Torres, Walker, Rodri, Foden, KDB and Sterling have all had international games to get them up to speed. Everyone else has not even had a preseason friendly. I assume that will influence Peps selection.

Safe to say we need a bit of a boost after the low key build up to the new season and supposed struggle to get in a new signing. The performance will tell us all we need to know about our prospects for 20/21 and maybe Pep's immediate future. I am hoping for a fast start and for that reason have fingers crossed Ferran gets his debut as a starter. Sterling and Torres out wide will give Kev plenty of options for early passes - Good shout on both teams dom but don't be surprised to see Garcia involved.

Don't think Pep will play Foden or Torres, but Ferran has impressed in his 2 games for Spain and I would like to see him given a chance. A lot of gloom on this forum at the moment, very difficult game but 3 points on Monday would lift everyone's spirits.

Yeah, comments about his demeanour, the negative tone of his voice etc. My own view is he never seems to look enthusiastic in those settings (understandably so too), but maybe for the first one of a new season the expectation is that he’d be a bit more upbeat, more hungry.

I know for a fact Pep absolutely hates playing on Mondays, he said it before the Leicester game in 2019.

Let's just hope the team take there chances and we win the game.

He lost his Mum in the Covid crisis, it isn’t something you get over quickly and he is still grieving. Let’s face it, many a person would think why the heck does football matter, it is not the be all and end all of life.
So I would guess that that’s the ‘something’ that doesn’t feel right. :-( :-)
After a few matches he’ll be thinking more clearly and know that we, the fans, have his back.
