A mate of mine is telling me that to play ps4 games on the ps5 you have to use the old ps4 controller as the new one won't work. Does anyone know if this is true?

There’s a few PS4 games that I really enjoy, or would enjoy but for the loading times. As an example I love Cricket 19 but there’s a 2 or 3 minute load time for each game which ruins it for me. On the PS5, the exact same game will have almost instant load times.

That alone makes it worthwhile for me (plus I’ve just paid for my pre order in full as Qatar will run out in short order).

On a side note, where would I buy the PS5 from? Is it about the same price everywhere?

Not sure mate. I had a look in the U.K. yesterday and a few places already said sold out.

My local virgin store in Qatar said I couldn’t pre-order until I suggested I’d pay in full same day (yesterday) and suddenly I was able to. Was happy it was only £17 more than UK RRP. There’s normally a bigger mark-up.

Having an interesting chat with a very old friend from back in the JTAG-RGH/Firmware flashing days (i'd just dug out my glitched 360 and wanted to play Fall out New Vegas and the DLC) He was a bit of a wizard of the scene and told me people were running all kinds of unsigned code on Nintendo Switch...how did they defeat this consoles security?...by shorting out to pins in the joycon area and getting it into recovery mode. I imagine that would save parents £100s and cost the console dearly in pirated games.

PS4 controllers will work on the PS5 but only on PS4 games. However Sony are yet to confirm if PS5 controllers will work with PS4 games.

Remember seeing this because when this was announced Microsoft immediately announced that all official and 3rd party Xbox controllers and accessories would be compatible with any version of Xbox from Xbox One upwards

Played through a few level of Half Life 2 last night. This is one shooter I missed out on playing 15-20 years ago. Probably because there were so many at that time, Quake, Doom, Fear, Far Cry , MOH, COD, Deus Ex. Had a lot of fun smashing crates with a crowbar. Took me while to work out how to deal with those creatures dangling from the roof .

One of the very best FPS ever made. Shame you didn't get to experience it at launch as I imagine it looks fairly dated now. Still a gem though.

Funnily enough I'm just on the last boss in Black Mesa - A half life 1 remake that looks easily good enough these days considering it was more a passion project.

Microsoft have today bought Zenimax studios who own Bethesda.

So it looks like ALL Bethesda games will be coming to game pass

Confirmed all old games and new games from Bethesda Softworks, Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, ZeniMax Online Studios, Arkane, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog, and Roundhouse Studios WILL be on game pass.

Think the games will still be on PlayStation but this is huge newd
