Jules Koundé

This is from EldesMarque. Finally, Monchi closed this issue by stating that he respects the opinions of all Sevillistas. “I respect when I read that or clause or nothing, just as when I read that it has to be sold. This club listens and respects and we recognize that we have been wrong when it happens ”, he settled

Clear as mud that.

The latin Stanley Unwin!

I think Txiki has faffed around with this CB signing this summer, but I would be very surprised if they didn't know at this stage whether the club will be able to get him for a fee under the release clause.

We obviously aren't going to be spending €90m Euros on him given we can get Koulibaly for €75m, so you would hope they know what they can get Kounde for in this instance given they've allegedly been in discussions for over a week.

Bizarre I know but I thought it was 75 Million as stated on here in several places. Well one of these pieces of info is incorrect but which one?
No idea. I have seen only 90M mentioned. They can't put the price above the release clause anyway, so if they are asking for 90M, that will be the amount of the clause. They can't ask for 90M if the release amount is 75M.

Not jacking the price up. That's his release clause amount I think.
The Telegraph reported:
"The France Under-21 international played a key role in Sevilla winning the Europa League last month and has a £68.25 million release clause which makes his market valuation fall within the price bracket City pay for their first-team signings.

It’s amazing we must hit every release clause for a player but when teams come knocking they get cut price deals

If Sevilla was really insisting on his release clause we wouldn't have even bothered trying to sign him.

They would have made that crystal clear on the first enquiry

€60m seems to be our limit for some reason. Yet our interest in Koulibaly was apparently over because they won't pay €75m. And are now interested in a guy that is only available for a €90m clause. Either we are clueless as to what's actually happening or our board is having a mare trying to negotiate.
