What happens to him for the rest of the season when Aguero & Jesus come back ? What happens to Cavani ?

On a one season deal it's irrelevant and we are going to have loads of football anyway in a compressed season. Once again, there's no guaranteed return dates for either striker and failure to act could cost us dearly. In reality the outlay as an insurance would be peanuts, and just like when Ibrahimovic or even Larsson went to United for 12 months, it could be a huge success.

It could be, but it takes a place out of the squad & he'd have to be involved every game.

I’ve a gut feeling we’ll be relying very heavily on Gabby over the course of the season.

Cavani would make sense if Kun’s likely to miss quite a few games (and maybe even leave) over this season and next. Then we not only have cover but also better conditions to bring on Delap.

Ifs and buts. It’s a tricky one. From a club point of view, probably yes. From the various players’ standpoints, question marks.
