Let's be honest, if you've lived through the last four years and you're undecided, you're clearly a moron.

Unless it's one of those "I stand to benefit from this prick, but I don't know if my conscience can take it" situations.
I’d say that if you’ve lived through the last four years and are voting for Trump you’re clearly a moron.

Add that to the undecideds and that’s about half the population of the US.

Makes you you think that voters should have to pass some sort of basic intelligence test before being allowed to vote.

I have heard that the debate is on 29th at 2.00 a.m. which is tomorrow unless it's on Wednesday morning. Could anyone clarify when it is on? My brief Google search didn't help me much. Cheers.
Wednesday morning for us. Tuesday night in US.

Oh, I like this thread as I can call BOTH these idiots and parties out!

To the NeoLib champagne/ red wine tasters that continually talk down to the “they’re both the same” crowd, you've not been on the end of the policies that affect you as poor, as Black and Brown people.

As ones starting on that 60 metre line, you don't nor will ever understand the years of neglect and abuse by the hands of the wealthy or politicians that promise change only to retract that sale as they're courted by the rich corporations to do their bidding instead.

You people are disingenuous to the core and why 'incrementalism' is of such value to you as it always keeps you that much ahead.

In your fantasy you continue to believe only one is a 'snake oil salesman' whilst in reality, the other 'salesman' would like you to believe he has good intentions for the disenfranchised.

They're BOTH salesman competing against each other for the same billionaire owners!!

There's not a chance in hell Biden gets to exact any of his 'promises' in real terms without down ballot races affecting the cities, states and senate. And whilst that's happening the economy (not Wall St) is going to have to turn and shit loads after that.

This Pres vote is just to get #45 out. It will not change fortunes for people within a Biden Admin. As a nation you've took the piss out of your citizens for too long!

You might want to look prettier to yourself and the outside world, but your problems are more than skin deep and almost rotten to the core.

Are you American?

Both are shit candidates. Feel sorry for the general public. Their future is at stake by drama artists They being duped into selecting either a perv or a peado. Someone who's quick to sanction other countries or someone who's a war mongerer. Fuck, the Americans are so stupid to buy this shit.
There is Jo Jorgensen if anyone is interested in good candidates :)

The first debate is here in Cleveland, scene of the 2016 RNC. Thankfully, this time downtown hasn’t been turned into something like a DMZ from Bladerunner. Partly due to Covid and partly due to the fact that it’s a few miles down Euclid Avenue in the Uptown/ University Circle neighborhood. We still had plenty of yahoos driving all around the city at the weekend in their pickup trucks, waving their flags. I passed a group of the clowns on a sidewalk in a west-side suburb on Saturday morning. It was like a cross between an old people’s home day out and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
We also have the pleasure of a bus load of ‘Proud Boys’ hitting town too. Hate these fuckers with a passion. Not only because they’re racist scumbags, but also they are the reason I can’t wear my Fred Perry shirts nowadays.
What's a Fred Perry shirt and why can't you wear yours?

It's quite funny that the forums favourite loon spouts literally everything that Cambridge Analytica designed to target young black Americans to get them not to vote, all the while thinking he's the only free thinker and that everyone else is sheep. But hey, maybe the Russians and far right were correct and they only data mined the information of millions of people to help them see the light?

Is it hyperbolic to say that this is the most important election of modern times?
If he gets back in it will be for life, him then his daughter. Will be terrible for the world

he doesn’t seem hell bent on bombing the Middle East like other predecessors, so in that respect he’s not so bad for the world.
He’s just a massive c*nt.

NeoLibs are the same all over the world, fumble!

That may be true, but it's beside the point.

FogBlueInSanFran replied to one of my posts, in essence it revolved around whether Trump was an aberration or the inevitable consequence of a broken political and economic system, it's fair to say we disagreed and I was going to reply but decided against it.

And the reason is simple.

Even though you and I share quite a bit of common, I believe there's still something to be said for backing off and letting folk sort their own shit out. Regardless of how powerful the USA is and how what happens there reverberates around the world, and regardless of the global reach of the neoliberals, this is their show, this is their history, this is just another step towards a more perfect union, or not.

I've been to the USA more times than I can remember, the first time was way back when Jimmy Carter was President. I've vacationed there many times and worked for years for an American company based in Philadelphia, I was back and forth all the time, I love that city and its people. But much as I love the place and much as I keep a close eye on what goes on, I'm not American and that matters. I don't wake up every morning and go to work with my fellow Americans, I don't have my finger on the pulse, don't know the zeitgeist, my opinions are completely detached, there's nothing visceral about them, fond of the country as I am, there's not gut to what I feel, in the end it's not my country, I've no dog in the race.

And that matters.

When something is not right and a person is in real pain, the pain becomes everything, it needs to be dealt with, we all know this.

That is also true of a people.

You and I suspect that Biden may not be up to much, but he does hold out the prospect of alleviating the pain of Trump for the American people, that matters, regardless of what comes next, that really matters.

And the people best placed to say so are Americans themselves, not just because they're the only ones with a vote, but because this is their moment in history, their moment to choose, their destiny, their country, it's not ours. There comes a point that no matter how smart you and I might think we are, and no matter how far the USA is from....

*government of the people, by the people, for the people."

It's the American people who'll decide whether it....

shall not perish from the earth.

A reminder this thread is supposed to be about the US General election. House/Senate state debates as well as the top of the ticket.

There's already the trump/biden threads if you wish to comment on those individuals.

Trump is going to be off the bloody chart with his behaviour. He won't be able to handle it and I wouldn't put it past him to get even more looney.

The preparation for the debate can't be going well. He doesn't listen at the best of times. I think there will be a lot of off script from him. But even if he rants like a loon it wont shift the numbers that much, what is left of his support will not care.
