So this quote made me laugh in the Biden thread!

To win presidential elections you still need to appeal to the center because there are a lot more people there than there are all the way on the left. Most progressives actually understand this, which is why Biden has overwhelming support within the party, it's just that the holdouts have to make it their thing to be as annoying as possible so they end up being way overrepresented in stuff you see online.

The irony being, of course, the centreline of voters actually support Progressive ideas on healthcare and the environment. This is NOT a NeoLib offering and they patently lose the centre voter when pitting against the idea of M4 and the Green New Deal!

Biden doesn't have standalone support from Progressives for his ideas; it's a borrowed vote, but posters of the above mind don't seem to understand the difference.

Also, the poster negates the 100M that don't vote being a major factor in the pres vote.

Very few undecided voters relative to last time round or times previous; little convention bump for either; Trump’s approval rating steady (steady at weak levels); poll splits pretty consistent for several weeks now nationally with some movement within states.

Breaking out my upper-crust analogies, Biden has a three-stroke lead heading into the back nine on Sunday it would seem. But the weather is unpredictable.

Let's be honest, if you've lived through the last four years and you're undecided, you're clearly a moron.

Unless it's one of those "I stand to benefit from this prick, but I don't know if my conscience can take it" situations.

I’m more referring to the “they’re both the same” crowd which is far smaller (and, yes, dumber) than it usually is. And I suspect that crowd is largely made up of folks who would otherwise support Trump but have the semblance of a conscience and detest his behavior, but can’t bring themselves to vote for a Democrat. And then there is that sliver of infantile Progressives who stamp their feet and fold their arms over their chest (ironically, just like Trump) because Biden isn’t Simon-pure enough for them, boo hoo hoo. They aren’t really undecided; they’re just children who pout because they won’t get their way. Give them some grape juice and a Tonka truck and lock them in their bedrooms until 2024.

The first debate is here in Cleveland, scene of the 2016 RNC. Thankfully, this time downtown hasn’t been turned into something like a DMZ from Bladerunner. Partly due to Covid and partly due to the fact that it’s a few miles down Euclid Avenue in the Uptown/ University Circle neighborhood. We still had plenty of yahoos driving all around the city at the weekend in their pickup trucks, waving their flags. I passed a group of the clowns on a sidewalk in a west-side suburb on Saturday morning. It was like a cross between an old people’s home day out and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
We also have the pleasure of a bus load of ‘Proud Boys’ hitting town too. Hate these fuckers with a passion. Not only because they’re racist scumbags, but also they are the reason I can’t wear my Fred Perry shirts nowadays.

They stopped selling them today for this reason!

Let my first contribution to the new thread be that I think the GOP candidate for the upcoming election is a ****.
Stop that. Posted elsewhere how i saw a sweet old lady in D.C. wearing a t-shirt that said "I'd call Trump a **** but he lacks depth & warmth."
