Alaba and Tagliafico seem impossible this late imo, more likely we also keep Zinchenko and hope Cancelo or Aké fill in till Jan, then get someone when clubs actually come in for Zinchenko. Lots of talk of moving him has only come from City, if he was available then surely we would have seen reports from elsewhere claiming interest in Zinchenko. The only bit of 'faint' interest was that of Napoli when his agent said he wouldn't mind including him in the deal if both Napoli and City approach.

All of this to me is an indication of 'look, we tried, ran out of time, couldn't be done so we'll try next window.' hope I'm wrong.

Just sign a lb & Zinchenko can be Moonchester.

Yes, it’s marketability. Money, money, money. Very little to do with football. And with a high risk of becoming Messi and Guardiola FC.

I know I’m out of step and it’s what most people seem to want.
Partially true but what club in their right mind would not want Messi and Pep if they have the means? It already has been Guardiola FC to an extent. Messi coming in won't change that.

You just have to look at the benefits club will have from getting Messi, and it will help us grow as a club. Identity isn't formed by commerical deals, all I see here recently is doubts on club not being well run and question marks of their decision making. Not really a good sign.

Late ? we have days, there will be loads of moves from loads of clubs in the next 6 days.

You are right but when was the last time we did a deal this late? especially since Guardiola era started.
This summer is different, a shorter window, it’s only about 5 weeks since we finished last season. Not just us nearly every team will be selling and buying right up to the deadline.

Nearly a week left of the window, apparently we have x1 foreign spot available and that is without selling....

Issue though could be wage bill etc so maybe we do need to offload

Huge no for Alaba.

We signed Ake who already does the same job ie can play CB and LB. Alaba is the same but older and more expensive albeit probably better.

No way are we signing him probably a smoke screen for the Ajax LB at best.

Both Bayern and Ajax are now briefing media they have no intentions to sell Alaba and Tagliafico respectively.

I don't think anyone else in the squad can match the amount of running Bernardo does besides maybe Jesus. Bernardo is better than Foden too it isn't even close.

Foden can match the running Bernardo does. He is quicker so covers more ground. Bernardo works his arse off and I am a huge fan of his but if you watch Foden he works just as hard and is quicker. Against Wolves, Foden was pressing their defence and then, whilst Walker was on his arse in the no 10 area, chased back to force Wolves' to check when there was room to run into. I'm not saying Bernardo wouldn't do that, just pointing out how pace over the ground (balanced with positional discipline) helps and why I see neither as suitable in a deeper midfield role at this moment in time.

Our wage bill is most likely lower than last season due to Silva's wages so can't see wage bill being issue.
We had £50 mill matchday income and a profit of about £10 mill from memory so everything financial is an issue really. I know losses can be carried over to next tear but no fans back will hit all clubs including us.

it hits us the least, making us being in the best position. Our matchday revenue is lowest of the top 6.

So all in all, we are in the best position of all clubs even then.
