If the squad stays as it is, whats peoples thoughts on winning the league and champions league?

Nonsense about VAR and refs aside, I don't think we're strong enough.

Of course, injury free we'd be right up there but as a club we just have perennial injury problems season after season and it has already reared its ugly head for the season ahead.

Meanwhile, the Dippers don't seem to be relenting at all and last season's luck has carried into this season with teams gifting them soft goals every week.

No way in this world can city be written off, rusty as fuck at the moment but everyone is,stay in mix and its on,read that van dik has played 92 games on bounce in prem that is unreal, but they will get a couple injurys surely this time around, that same 11 week in week out just wont get you thru this season 1 or 2 big injurys and there fucked

I like the optimism mate and agree Van Dijk is very important for Liverpool. Overall I respectfully disagree though.

To be brutal, 2 seasons back if I had to pick a first 11 then I would pick 6 City players and 5 Liverpool. Today, it would be 2 City players and 9 Liverpool.

If City were near good enough we wouldn't be relying on key Liverpool players getting injured.

I agree, and I've been saying this for ages. You cannot and should not be a soft arse or ever back down from giving some fucker an absolute mouthful of abuse if it gives your team an advantage, or shuts them up because they know they can't intimidate you.

There don't seem to be many players in the game anywhere at all these days like Vieira, Keown, Wise, Keane (twat) and Adams, Terry, etc. Football getting softer, or too much chance of being retrospectively punished by var?
That mentality starts from the top of the club to the bottom.

As a club we are far too nice and have and continue to take terrible criticism that is simply not justified.

Until we learn to fight back, it will continue and get worse and the lack of respect will be unabated.

100% spot on. There's being holistic, and then there's being a soft touch.

I'd say we're definitely done seeing as it took us an eternity to get this second centre half in, very unrealistic to think we can get another one in in a few days time. Pretty underwhelming window all round, defence now looks strong other areas not so.

Absolutely no chance. Not enough pace or hunger in there, as we’ve seen over the last year. Whether people like to admit it or not, Pep’s head’s gone too. We may win the Carabao again though.

Ederson, Walker, Laporte, Forden, DeBruyne, Aguero

Only Laporte, De Bruyne and Aguero get in I’m afraid
Ederson Walker Foden and Sterling are all debatable and thats the point it’s a close call there isn’t a big gap either way. Form could be the difference between having 3 City players or 7.I’d even put Jesus ahead of Firminho.Bernardo would also start ahead of some of their midfielders. In a few months would expect you could throw Dias and maybe Torres in the mix.
Put another way In a travelling squad of 20 there would be more City than liverpool, the 11 on the pitch would depend on form not ability.

Walker better than Terence Trent D'arby, sorry but that is BS

No way is Walker better than Alexander-Arnold, he's the best right back in the prem by a long shot.
Going forward he is absolutely brilliant, His delivery into the box is near always on the money. Defensively he's definitely there to be got at.
If you were to put Arnold in our side he would always struggle with the high line we play and we don't play with three sitting midfielders.
Both players have different strengths.
I can see why you are saying he's the best right back though he's brimming with confidence and playing in a side with a winning mentality 2-3 seasons now.

Haha. It does explain a lot though and I hope the mods will make due allowance in the future :)

P.S. I just got out of the road of the bastard if it was heading my way.
It was a school trial and I thought if I don't head this ball I ain't gonna get anywhere near the school team, so I headed it, staggered around, probably properly concussed for ten mins, and still got nowhere near the school team.
