If our in-comings consist of Ake, Torres and Dias. You can't be too disappointed. That said, it wasn't the huge transfer window we've been promised by Sam Lee and the supposed ITK's.

It seems like we will be forced to spend big next summer. A Forward is a must (Haaland, Felix, Mbappe etc). Fernandinho has to be replaced. We will also need to sign a LB.

Stones and Mendy will also have 1 year left of their contract. And Aguero will be out of contract. Their futures must be sorted. Then you have players like Mahrez/Gundogan who i guess could leave.
How reliable are the ITK's on this forum? I was pointed out to it when the Messi transfer looked likely. The poster Tolmie looked to know a thing or two more than most, but Sam Lee seems close to the club. Fair assessment?

I'm very happy with the window.

We replaced Sané with a kid who will be a bonafide world beater.

Aké is going to be a very useful player, good enough to start at CB, good enough to fill in at LB and can be used in midfield too.

Ruben Dias wasn't my first choice but I have to trust that after a 2 year CB search they have found one who is the right fit.

Messi would have been nice but oh well.

i think our window has been decent in a sense we have hopefully addressed our main issue at the back

However, I think a lot of fans can also now see the failings in midfield while the failings at left back have been blindingly obvious for some time

Next summers transfer window needs to be big - Aguero, Ferna to anme but two will need replacement either getting in to be ready or immediately to replace. We wont be able to stringent with our cash when replacing Aguero - we will have to go big

A lot of fans are preditcting our failings in midfield, but until we see the new look defence, and see how we set up and press in attack and midfield with a fit squad we won't know what if any failings we have in midfield.

Zincencko always look good in MF in international duty . Surely got to be better then Ilkay in there as a option. Phil can’t play every 3 days yet nor can anyone really without risk of injury , would like to see zinny play cm in the cups and lesser games . Useful player to have round, don’t get the hate. Was a stage he played about 25 games at LB and we won all of them

Agreed in a way - a more confident back line who push up and squeeze the space my help condense that space where the midfield usually should be - Dias is from what ive read very good at defending ont he front foot (like Kompany)

its the left side where Mendy is that concerns me however -Laporte has a big job on his hands

I feel sorry for Zincehnko - he has been fully committed to us and payed well out of position the vast majority of games he has played - of course he gets exposed against good teams with top players as he aint a left back (far from it)

I still dont think he will get in our midfield so you could understand if he wanted to leave with KDB, Foden, Bernardo all ahead of him and even Gundogan who for me serves no purpose.

I don't think there's any hate. Some people just want us to get a specialised LB in and apparently that isn't going to happen while he's still here.

He's a versatile player and pretty decent too but he isn't going to be a regular starter and he's perhaps taking the squad place of somebody that could be.

I'd be tempted to buy who we need and if it means Zinchenko's squad place is in jeopardy, then he'll have a decision to make. I very much doubt that we'll do that though.

He's certainly not better than Gundogan though.

Apparently I hate him because I described his refusing to leave as "this shit". People on here are so sensitive about language, poor old razman was reported for saying "U" yesterday ffs!

I agree

I would love to see Zinchenko in CM for Ajax or Wolves

If our business is done for the year then I can't see us winning the title or CL personally. You can't say the owners haven't backed the manager as we have obviously spent good amounts on Torres, Ake and Dias, but it just feels to me like the only weakness we have seriously addressed is the CB area, and even then you are asking a lot of a 23 year old who has never played in the league before. We are still way off it in the LB area, midfield and if we lose Aguero for any amount of serious time then we are in trouble. We lost 9 league games last season and I feel like we are no stronger than we were 12 months ago. All the clubs who will be in and around us have strengthened significantly with the exception of the rags, add to that Everton seem to have spent well I honestly feel we are in a fog fight for 2nd to 4th. Hope I'm wrong like, just can't see us getting closer to Liverpool this season.

cue the psychos calling you a rag or a dipper

How can the dippers sell Brewster who’s done fuck qll for 23M and yet we couldn’t unload Zinchenko who’s a Ukrainian international.

Similar to Iheanacho.

Brewster was the second best England player when they won the U17 World Cup.

They're paying for potential. If he works out, they do well in the league and make a profit from the buy back.
