City won't even know exact up to date info. I'm assuming we are just been kept abreast.

So instead of clinging to every last snippet from some virgin sat in his mums house, why not look at what is not being said and look at the bigger picture.

City haven't released a single thing. Even a denial. Why?
Messi has activated a release clause, and said he wants to leave. He hasn't turned up for his medical or training.
Jorge Messi has personally flown in to speak with Barcelona. Why?
You really think this is the best way to get a better contract? He would have just asked for a bigger birthday cake!

So instead of flapping at every gust of wind. Sit back, chill out and wait for some real news.....FFS!

Odds are impacted by punters who are impacted by the media.

The more '"it's on, its off" in the media, the more bets get placed.

The whole SSN "transfer show" they broadcast several times a day is one big subliminal message that keeps the wheels of the system oiled.

The tv "in the knows" are all clearly implicit in this.

Anyone who cannot see that is an imbecile.

It's the fools that read the tweets and think its gospel that make the odds shrink. There has been a good few quid to be made by backing him to join city at 13/8 and backing him to stay at barca 13/8 at various times on sky bet and I'm sure there will be again before it ends

Of course and I understand how markets can move from information/ betting patterns. My concern was despite negative things this week (like la Liga saying they will hold to his buyout clause etc) it didn’t move the market and he stayed around 8/15 to join city. Following last night it’s the first time it’s drifted from odds on which was my only worry. Hoping it’s a stumbling block rather than it being off completely.
 
Until City start using the journalists they usually use for leaks that it's not happening I believe it's on. At the same time it's a delicate issue for city to leak any distancing from a deal as officially we're not even in a deal.
 
This is all a political game, let’s wait and see I’m sure city knew these rumors were going to come. It’s just a matter of believing the Messi’s or not
 
Yesterdays meeting most likely went as expected with both sides officially stating there intentions & no side falling at the first hurdle. Bartomeu would no doubt have had discussions late last night with the Barca board.
It does seem that a number of board members are resigned to losing Messi so hopefully they will have put pressure on Bartomeu to do a deal.
I really can't see Messi's side backing down now after officially requesting the termination of his contract & the fall out with Bartomeu. Hopefully after the next meeting we should have more clarity.
