“We need mud” was one of his on-air lines tonight, met with many seconds of silence/bafflement from Neville, who clearly had no idea how to respond.
His comment about Ferna being brought on to commit fouls in midfield was also beyond the pale. As was his constant first half references to the cost of our players.

Yea for someone around football he should know the makeup of pitches 100% soil pitches havent been around for decades in top flight. In fact most dont have any soil at all I believe desso are 100% sand and nylon, but I could be wrong.
At City academy they have at least 3 different type of pitch to train on depending on who Ciyy are playing so they can use to that type of pitch.
