Stop being so nice. I am not one for making players train with the youngsters but he needs frozen out of the team. It is harsh but no other way to deal with the situation. Morale will be effected either way. The best solution is a sale with zin onboard and willing to go.

Karim Rekik on his way to Sevilla after looking really good at Hertha Berlin.

Only 25! Probably expected to replace Kounde next season. Its a shame it's broken up the Boyata-Rekik CB partnership though.

Whilst that might speak to how much he loves the club, it might also speak to lack of ambition depending on how you look at it.

I can see where you're coming from overall but I have to say that anyone who knows how hard Zinchenko had to work at academy level in order to make it as a professional wouldn't be levelling any accusations of a lack of ambition at him. If I remember correctly, he was released as a teenager by Shakhtar and then spent a year going around to different clubs in Eastern Europe, going to trials and trying to prove himself. He then got taken on by an unremarkable Russian club and quickly made his impact, leading to an international debut and then him signing for us a year later.

I think if the whole squad had as much ambition and determination as him then we'd be sat on our third league title in a row and wouldn't feel the loss of Kompany as much as we have. That's not to say we don't have plenty of more talented players than him but I think his attitude is absolutely spot on; this is the second time he's turned down opportunities to move away from the club and he's backed himself to make his mark. It went pretty well the last time around.

All that being said, I think he's a shit left back and I'd much rather we had another in the squad. It's just unfortunate to see the amount of disrespect on here towards someone who has done nothing other than give his all and won nearly everything with us.

Thinking he's shit and wanting him gone is one thing but being so dismissive towards someone who has contributed to our recent success is just a shame and not something I'm on board with.

Do you honestly believe he has been told he is not part of the manager's plans, or even that he may be but only as last resort, but yet he still chooses to stay for a laugh or spite?

'Staying to fight for his place' if in itself true, is a most often response to club not looking to force a sale. The club must be happy enough not to push him out, and not to look for a replacement. Despite the claims, ultimately by journalists looking to come up for a justification for their own failed speculation or predictions of incoming signings that didn't materialize.

I don't think you meant to reply to me.

Amad Traore off to United. Wasn't he another on that Ezzy's list? Fuck me he had so drawn in with his comical bullshit. Such an obvious WUM. Hope he's banned tbh.
Shame as traore though young looks a decent talent

Having seen Mendy's performances and those of the whole team in general last season and recent weeks, I'd like to know why the club don't seem to feel we need a left back, or a midfielder with some energy like Partey.

I can understand the reluctance to sign a striker as hopefully at least one of Jesus or Kun will be fit soon (though I'd like to have seen Delap more during their absence), but to me and many other blues left back especially is an issue and has been since Mendy's first injury with us.

We've won titles with delph and zinchenko at left back but now it seems it's a major concern. After losing big players it's about time we tweaked our system a little and adapt to the players we have.

In 2 weeks time you mean? So it’s not possible that he’s injured now but over it in 2 weeks?
Unlikely if it really is a hamstring.
All I’m saying is the threshold for withdrawal seems to have got lower and more and more of our players seem to be withdrawing from international rendezvous....which is to be commended if that’s the case!

Is the correct answer. We defend as a team. Part of our defensive strength should be our ability to retain possession and not give it away cheaply through high risk passes in dangerous parts of the pitch even more so given defensive/pace in CDM limitations.

Foden & KDB are brilliantly dynamic players likewise Mendy/Walker going forward but too often it’s their passes/crosses that are turned over leaving us exposed.

We miss David for his control. Bernardo may give us that but is relatively inexperienced in that position.

It may be an unpopular opinion but I can see Gundogan playing the David 8 role, albeit off the wrong foot. He’s the nearest we have to David in terms of composure, technical ability & completely lacking in pace. He may still have a role in a double pivot but imo Fernandinho/Rodri would offer more than him for that.

Delph was a revelation in the role,he was as influential and important as anyone in that record breaking season.

If we are to use him, then that is where we will get the best out of him.
