fair enough there. I ignore all the Media stuff. They do what they do. Sod em.

online it’s constant barrage of anti England stuff, it’s so grating. Hammers fans will constantly moan about Kane playing - so obvious it’s because he’s spurs.
they used to go mental every time Noble wasn’t picked in the squad aswell. It’s just so tedious. Wish England fans could let club tribal shit go and get behind em, especially when it’s a bunch of young kids and other players making there debuts - we’re a nation of moaners and nothing proves it more than when England play.

Id love for England to do well, but it's the same every 2 years, we'll spank the qualifiers and then not have a clue what to do once we're there.

Players aren't picked on form, it's all well and good fucking about in friendlys but players should be picked on form not because of who they play for, wait until we play a meaningful game and watch the same out of form shite players being picked. I guarantee Pickford and Maguire will be in there. Southgate is the most boring uninspiring manager I think we've ever had. How can he be in charge of the nation's best players is beyond me, we have some great players and the football we play is absolutely shite 9/10.

I know I'm probably proving your point by moaning about it, but it's difficult to get behind them.

The inter club rivalries always baffled me, same with the different firms who used to battle one another, totally idiotic.

It's amazing to think we haven't been successful in a tournament since 1966. Euro 96 and the last world cup is the furthest we have got, although the latter was tough going but we got there.

I would like to see Grealish start in this game. I think he could surprise a few people. I thought he and Mount liked up well for the 15 or so minutes they were on together. Grealish is a clever player, and would thrive with better players around him than he has at the moment at Villa.

who does he pick on who they play for though ? You mention Pickford, well he's Everton.. and Maguire to be fair was Englands best player at the World Cup... well off the boil since granted. other than that, he's hardly picking much wrong. and lets not forget, if we're honest, whoever he picks, whatever the formation - most people will moan about it.

he came in, got rid of rooney, he constantly picks Walker, Sterling, played Stones in World Cup, yes he gave a few United players games aswell... but at the World Cup also , we was the youngest side in the competition - I genuinely think's he picks young players and players that are on form and seems to give loads a chance.

we do spank the qualifiers (which we shouldn't just take for granted) and last competition we got to the Semi Final of the world cup - for England, that's pretty impressive - Yes we didn't play amazing football throughout, but international football is a different fish, it's often not that free flowing even when i've watched the likes of Brazil, Argentina etc, with all the talent - they sometimes just about scrape a win against your 'average' nations.

Maguire, Gomes, Pickford, Winks, Abraham shouldn't be anywhere near the squad. It's that bad I had to Google who had been picked cause I wasn't that arsed to know who was in it when it was announced.

Are Pickford and Maguire gonna live off the world cup for the foreseeable then? After literally keeping 1 clean sheet in the tournament, theyve been dogshit for their clubs so why do they get picked? What message does that send out. We're bang average, the team could be good enough if Southgate picks the right team and tactics but he's incapable, he's a huge weak link.

well Pickford, Winks and Abraham aren't being picked for playing for Red teams are they ?

I rate Abraham personally, think he's a propar handful and would like to see him play more. That aside, go on any forum and they will pick out another set of players who they don't think should wear an England shirt, i'm sure John Stones isn't favoured much by other clubs fans, but you didn't mention him ...

No England manager can make a squad selection that pleases.

I didn't mention that's why they were, in previous squads that has happened, players picked for what club they are from.

Stones isn't in this squad that's why I didn't mention him because he doesn't deserve to be and rightly so. So why not the same for Maguire and Pickford?

Ok, got ya, but i think this is rolled out whatever manager picks an England squad. they really can't win.

out of a whole squad - you can only point to 2 players, that's not the end of the world is it ? I guess Maguire had a great world Cup to be fair and Southgate rates him, as did most until recent performances.

Pickford again was great for England at the World Cup and hasn't done too much wrong for England, also to be fair, I don't think there's much better keepers for England is there ? i'd probably have Pope over him maybe, hardly a massive step up... Dean Henderson maybe ? oh wait, he's Man U now!

Exactly all would have been about taking the piss if they had lost,England have some decent players,but once you get in the set up regardless for the majority of them,form for their club they still get picked,players at unfashionable clubs only get a look in now and again ..
