Interesting from this Gooner’s perspective the debate so far on this thread. I think the most valid point made is about the uncertainty surrounding fitness for both sides after the international break. Only one days full training before match day. despite that, clearly City will be hot favourites to pick up all 3 points. I’d be happy obviously with anything we can get from the game. My concern is the likely absence of Tierney. He is now a key player for us and it will be a blow if he cannot play. Having said that, Arsenal are looking to get him cleared to play. Fingers crossed.

after your recent performance against us beating us in the semi final, Id say it will be closer than people think.
Looking at how we are playing this season I wouldnt say we are hot favourites to beat you by a long stretch.

Think it will be a very even game -out injuries are already very concerning (KDB being pulled from the England game on Sunday is another concern even as a precaution as it shows the level of fatigue he has already) - Aguero wont have any match fitness even if he has recovered, neither will Jesus . Sterling also a potential loss as well....

you have the players to exploit our high line and no doubt Arteta will target our left back position as its a huge weakness - any pace in that area and you will get chances

KdB is a wonderful player and if he doesn’t play Saturday that will be a blow for you. Having said that and based admittedly on early days, I don’t think you have adequately replaced Kompany or Silva.

Just watching Match of the Day 2 and realized, both Liverpool and United will now have to chew over these defeats for next two weeks ... I'm glad we didn't have that 5-2 just before international break ... having made it to the cup Quarter already helps too (which the scousers have crashed out of) ... oh, and they shipped all 7 from open play, none of them was penalties which makes our 5-2 to Leicester look much less crazy as a result ... and comparing with United's 6-1 today, they weren't even down to 10 men either ... whoa, what a day ... this seriously resets the whole season!!

Our boys now totally need to come back and be right up for it from the off ... against Arsenal and onwards and upwards we go!
I had forgotten they both got battered , cheered me right up

Replacing like for like where those two world class legends are concerned was/is a near impossible task.We have Foden,Bernardo,Laporte and now Dias to step into their shoes though,i would say they are definitely in the 'adequate' bracket.

As for KDB,it would definitely be a blow.....of Deontay Wilder proportions.

Slightly different quote on City Chief, (via MEN):
Roberto Martinez: "I would not say that Kevin is injured. He said he felt something. It is too early to know what he has, but he did not feel a hundred percent. It was rather a precautionary change...”

The lad looks knackered,i don't think its any more than that.

He should really have done a Sterling.

PS, I used to love watching Silva play. A true artist, magical at times. Rarely, have I seen a player who always seemed to have time and space on the ball.

I hope it's nothing but you could see Kev talking to Martinez for a few minutes and he put his hands together then pulled them apart as if he was describing how something had pulled, then he intertwined his hands as if something wasn't moving smoothly? Fingers crossed it's not significant. He needs a scan and rest.
