Really happy with the points and great to see the defence look so much stronger.
 
Very impressive imo.

Not 'sparkling' by any stretch but we looked a lot more solid than we have for some time.

Dias is obviously a large upgrade on all of our CBs bar Laporte. Looks a proper CB who can actually defend.

Still feels weird as fuck without Dave.
 
unlike pep not playing out from the back and ederson kicking long ?

maybe the squad has not had time to work on the system and this injury curse keeps cropping up week after week
losing KDB is bad enough ? but laporte and mendy and jesus, well no other team in the premier league could lose 4 or 5 key players and still beat arsenal who are the form team of 2020

hard thought win
but still little signs that we are miles off the pace, it was a hard watching city struggling to control the game
playing from the front man and trying to win the 2nd ball, it felt like a old type of city game of the 90s and niall quinn as our main striker

Contrary to the match day thread I think we played pretty well against a well drilled Arsenal team.
We were never going to batter them considering they started the league very well and we didn't.
Makes a nice change having a battling performance where we've defended well.
Both keepers making good saves, but Arsenal made more.
I'm happy with that, yeah we weren't our outstanding best but still a very good performance against a good team.

Also Arsenal just aren’t the serial pushovers anymore. They will win a lot of big games this season and imo will be in the mix. They are decent now. Well drilled.
 
Solid game overall. Dias is a monster. Gundo gave us control when he came on, glad he and Kun are back. Cancelo has great attaching skill. Wasted some chances but it's all good. Eddy made some cool saves in the first half. Ake is such a strong versatile player.

With Dias, Cancelo and Bernardo we need a new song "Portuguese blues". I think all three will be crucial this year.

Dias already looking the part.Hate making comparisons to any Rag players,but Dias reminds me of Vidic. Just has an air about him,and a real presence.I know it is only 2 games in,but sometimes you just know with players,he is one of them.

Already Dias is looking the part, right at home. Get Laporte fit and we could be onto something here.

We’re three weeks behind every other team in fitness but (yet again) miles ahead with injuries. Keep grinding out the wins/points, boys, and get us to December near or at the top.. then we’ll see what the New Year brings!
 
Great win considering the injuries we have to key players. Dias and Ake were excellent and Arsenal didn't create anything in the second half. Bernardo makes a difference and needs games.
 
Good performance. Great to see Silva shine again. Raheem led the team well and his all round game was very good. Dias looks to be a great acquisition so far. Great to see Sergio back. Nice to see us manage a game out, I thought we were very confident Managing it out against a good Arsenal team. My only concern is Foden today, looked a bit slack and not so sharp. He should have put us 2-0 up. Don’t want to be over critical of Phil, he’ll be back at it soon. All in all, a good performance and a much needed result. Well done blues.

Or saying Raz should hit it?
But people saying we were lucky to 1-0 up, which I disagreed with, not sure what moaning you're on about.
