Is he, or is he not, injured long-time? We have BeIn Sports, one source, claiming he’s done his ACL. No one else is reporting that.

are you able to walk off the pitch with a acl injury?
Mendy played on for a good few minutes.

You never really know, it could be a strain but it had all the hallmarks of an ACL.

It was regular Pickford. Even just kicking the ball he’s so over exaggerated. He just never seems in control and as a keeper it’s absolutely key. In that Sunderland team he was being peppered, which seems to fit his demeanour. When that’s not the case, even Everton’s dodgy back line has been streets ahead of that Sunderland side, he’s really struggled.

The challenge today was very poor and reckless. No player, whoever they play for, deserves that kind of injury.

Liverpool fans can cry more, they got loads of unfair decisions their way last season. I'm a bit sad about Richy and Pickford gives me hives, but I can live with a 2-2 and them getting VAR'd for once.

Would not say it was that reckless, but is of course the worst tackle in the history of the game as it was against a Liverpool player.

The Pickford challenge on Van Dijk was apalling and the Richarlson tackle not any better. Hopefully, Van Dijk is not seriously injured, but if worst case scenario he is out for the season then it will be interesting to see how they cope.

Gomez is in poor form and Matip is just returning from injury so they don't have a lot of options. Fabinho can fill in if required.

Good to see the Dippers luck changing in relation to VAR, not their best friend anymore.

I

MoTD did not show the targeting of James Rodriguez from the word go, including from Van Dijk.

Someone posted on twitter that his mate has waited 2 years for an ACL operation for the NHS but can walk fine.

I hope they go out and spend money in January to prove that its not so easy when your best defender is out injured for the season. They could really struggle to qualify for the Champions league if the injury keeps him out that long. Their attack is good but without VVD they have nothing else.

He’s, by all accounts, done the ACL of a player, making contact at high shin/ knee height. It was a very poor challenge. Like outfield players have needed to adjust their tackling technique in the modern game, keepers need to do the same.
