Let’s see. A bit of a strange season so far—with Spurs result today all the “top six” have had some not very good results. But seriously, many of you have suggested we never get injuries. So we get to see how we handle it. Obviously it weakens us but I’d like to hope we are better able to cope than we were three years ago.

Where did you see the “most valuable” thing?
Where didn’t I see it, more like.

I don't understand why so many non-LFC fans, including a number of Blues on Twitter being upset with those mocking Van Dijk's injury. While several others are posting 'get well soon' messages. Like this from one of the very small number of City accounts I dislike (I only ever come across their messages when others retweet):

Why do people do this? Is it because they think it protects us from some hex or voodoo?

He's hurt his bloody knee. Not suffered ill health, lost someone important or is now unable to support his family. I could understand it if it was a player from the team you support or a player who has had bad luck and deserves a break. Some people are desperate to be loved, just as some enjoy being offended.

Because celebrating the injury of any player is a bit of a shitty thing to do?

That’s true. I’d have preferred him to stay as the defensive midfielder, I think Thiago moves there.

Thiago becomes key now we absolutely need him to stay reasonably healthy without VVD as we will need to score more goals now.

We are still two deep in midfield—Wijnsldum, Milner and Jones are our backup midfielders and I suppose Ox when he’s available.

we wil need to buy a CB in January though, Matip is hurt half the time.

But Thiago becomes key now.
I thought he got a fairly serious injury as well ?

Not as bad as could’ve been—it could’ve been same as VVD!—he will be rested on Wednesday that’s it.

But I understand he had his issues with injuries at Bayern, and I get the sense he was not intended to play every game but to be rotated in and provide a tactical option. Fabinho probably moving into defense means he will need to play more often.

With Henderson, Thiago, Keita, Wijnaldum, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jones you’re hardly short of numbers for the three midfield positions, even if Fabinho has to play as a centre half.

Think they’ve said his injury is relatively minor.

I'm not really following football news much at the moment, so thanks, I was going on a message from my lad yesterday.

I'm not feeling close to football right now, I watch our games, and our women/EDS, but that's pretty much it, I might view bbc football a couple of times a day too, but I'm just not feeling the football vibe as things are.

Yeah, not easy to muster too much enthusiasm for football in the current climate tbf.

Call me a twisted and sick degenerate, but I for one am happy he’s hurt.

Fucked up to say, but I won’t be fake and hide how I feel just because I have a politically incorrect opinion.

Just posting the links to the article in my original post, think it has been posted before as well.

Very interesting article about the methods liverpool are using, and why he believes they have very little chance of winning the league this year, as the damage being done to their players when following the regime they appear to be following, can be career threatening and have long term health effects if used beyond the two year cycle it can be used.

not sure about that article, but love this reference to liverpool: “Yes, they’re also as clean as Peppa Pig’s boots after a day of muddy puddle jumping.” - not very Russian tho!

Hang in there, and stay safe & healthy (physical and mental). I don't know where you all are, but I'm on US East coast. Our media's painting a bleak situation of the situation in UK.

If they retain the Title without VVD we will never live it down , given what happened to Laporte last season
Liverpool's squad will be under immense pressure now.
