Didn't Liverpool accept T3 restrictions almost immediately? Didn't the Mayor accept that he couldn't have special treatment and therefore he'd have to fund support himself... How is that any different to Manchester?

Yeah, and all the scousers were up in arms and saying they should have held out like Manchester.

Just looking at the graphs hammers home how ridiculous it has got up here in the north. Is it seriously that hard not going out for a pint? Is it really that hard not being able to go to a fucking night club or out for dinner for a few months? Thrown away months of work cos selfish pricks just can't fathom not being able to do what they want for a few months. My gran has been desperate to leave the house for months and now she has an even longer wait cos people couldn't just go to a bargain booze and get pissed at home.

If you look at the graphs it's people going to work, schools and care homes that is the issue.

Have you missed that hospitality was responsible for 3% of cases? Care homes and education are the prime causes of infection at the moment.

Nothing in the Johnson briefing so far that has evidenced why hospitality should be a sector that takes a huge hit. Hopefully a question will be raised. If you can't provide the evidence, at least compensate adequately when someone presents you with that evidence. And the Government accuses the City Region of playing politics.

Really hope that Tier 3 does now make a positive difference in terms of reducing infections but just can't see it happening.

Are they the restaurants and pubs people were encouraged to go and spend money in just weeks ago ?

I live in Trafford and we have been under strict rules for a few weeks.

Can someone tell me what changes in tier 3 aside from pubs and bars?

Does grass roots kids football/team sports and stuff like that continue?

That is households mixing outdoors?

Burnham refused to accept £60m so you can't give something that is turned down. Burnham has cost the area nearly £40m due to his posturing and trying to get himself re-elected next year. Is £60m not better than £22m?
That’s not the fucking point!! It should have been £60m guaranteed. It’s lives people are talking about, Boris has used GM as a reminder to everyone else now that he can do what the fuck he wants. Absolute piss take.

This is not a business deal. It’s people’s lives we’re talking about.
Spot-on. It is also about using public money to help the public. Personally I don't think the Government would be so stupid as to withold money. It would be political suicide for starters. I also think there is a high chance of major civil disorder if this happens.

  • exercise classes and organised sport can continue to take place outdoors; these will only be permitted indoors if it is possible for people to avoid mixing with people they do not live with or share a support bubble with; there are exceptions for supervised activities for under-18s, and disability sport
