West Ham (A) Post Match Thread

Mahrezl was terrible as expected, can't understand how that person is a record buy, £60m player....he contributes nothing, and for all his one assist or goal every 10 games...he is a luxury player that doesn't deserve his wage, never mind his starting place.
To be fair to Mahrez, in his 64 league games for us, he has scored or assisted 33 times ... which is an awful lot better than 1-in-10.
He's (statistically) one of the most effective players in the league, going forward.

It does indeed look like that. If so though, just fucking tell us. Because otherwise it is increasingly difficult to explain his ludicrous decision making, selection and tactics
Shouldn't impact of his job and he wouldn't be intentionally derailing our season.

Just seems like he has lost his passion for the job and its rubbing off on the players and their efforts.

In a league like the premier league all the sides have leaner years and its probably our turn now.

We have had a good run in qualifying for Chumps League but everything comes to an end and this year could be our turn.

The problem Mahrez has always had is that he never really fitted into our system. So he has the odd great game because he's a talented player, but so often he slows our game down or doesn't link up with others as well as others. Think about your best Mahrez moments, and for me it's almost always some individual brilliance rather than as a part of a great move.

He was both scoring and assisting a lot during his Leicester days, don't know why he looks so selfish here.

Having had an hour to calm down. Once again we have lost because of shit finishing.

Pep is trying is hardest to make the team as slow and imbalanced as possible but Sterling should score at least one of them chances and we are sat here now with 3 points.

Sterling scoring and us winning would just be papering over the cracks.

Mahrez is blessed with amazing skill and scored many vital winning goals 2018/19. However he dwells in it too much when we need the quick ball against a packed defence. Three times today he should have moved it a cross the box first time but cocked up

Agreed. And that is fine and I agree talhst things are cyclical in sport. It has been Liverpools turn to rise to prominence in that respect. But that being so, I increasingly think that we should just acknowledge it and maybe look to make a change. This season will be all over the place for many sides, so might be a good time to do it and try
