Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

I agree. I think a new young team of Ederson, Cancelo, Diaz, Laporte, Ake, KDB, Foden, Bernardo, Torres, Jesus and Sterling is easily good enough to win another title. They just need time to get going in this crazy season.
Lets' just hope that time is now. 8 points out of 15 possible is simply not good enough, and we could very well be out of the title chase if this continues for a few weeks.

Or maybe this will be a season we "take it easy", where we consciously do not go for glory. It would surprise me though, if that was within any professional player's or manager's DNA.

Once Vincent Kompany decided to leave after the FA Cup Final win against Watford Pep should have been looking for a CB straight away. So Pep decided to leave it a season.

Now a season later when all the fans knew we needed another CF, what does Pep decide to do about absolutely nothing. So now we are going into a vital Champions League fixture, without a recognised striker. Plus a number of vital league games as well.

It seems to me that Pep hasn't learned the lesson when Vincent Kompany left the club. There is no way that we should be going into the 2020/21season with only 2 recognised strikers. Now that it looks like both Sergio and Jesus will be out until after the November break.

Pep needs to bring in another striker, even if it is only on loan until the end of the season. There must be quite a few players who will fit the bill. Only if Pep is prepared to go out and look for one

Closer than some think
I don’t know if you are saying this because he won against arsenal. We might as well get ole because all he did was defend with 10 and break on the counter and you know that is not how we play. He might be good but we can do better

Of course. How foolish of me not to realise that we should tap into all the geniuses on here.
I don't think anyone on here is claiming to be a genius mate.
But forums are for people to express their opinions. I assume that's why Ric started BM.
If opinions annoy you then forums are not for you. I'm here because I like to read other fans opinions, even if I don't agree.

Good question. Some seem to forget we played our best EVER under him. You can't replicate that season after season... And this season NO ONE is immune from upsets/ injuries and the otherwise unexpected. I can't help but blame that sector of our fan base (obviously growing in number) who are pitifully greedy and petulant and simply expect our players to be in human and play perfectly every season. Yes we looked poor yesterday, it's football not a magic show. I get so F'ing sick of the whining and lack of respect some here show of our longstanding players and staff who pipe up only when the chips are down yet show up after we're flying like nothing ever happened. If you want to pull for a winner every season buy the league winners kit after they're crowned and wear it until they aren't top anymore: rinse and repeat. If we win Saturday vs. Sheffield were top 4-5 and in the thick of things in this tumultuous season in which everyone- players included- have been touched deeply by this pandemic. Weve played 5 bloody games FFS. Weve had major players injured all season. If you cant compose yourself and keep from throwing your rattle from the pram every time we don't win 4-0 find a new hobby.
So are you saying people on bluemoon shouldn't criticize Pep or the players ? And if they do have negative feelings about team selection or performance you'd prefer them to keep them to themselves and not voice their feelings ?

I think you just lost your zen.

I agree it is not good enough I also think that 13 points out of 18 in only 6 games is poor . My point is no one of the top 6 is playing close to what they should I saw Liverpool game yesterday against Sheffield United and the Sheffield could have scored 3 goals Liverpool is not close to what they where.

Seem like we are briefing interesting infos, club might not be 100% sure Pep will renew.

To think I get abuse for saying Pep’s time is up at City. Managers come to the end of their cycle and we are already beyond Pep’s. Now we have one of City’s go-to guys for briefings essentially spelling out our top targets for next season’s manager. Pep leaving is literally unfolding before our eyes. It’s sad that all good things come to an end, Pep is our greatest ever manager and by a mile, but we really do need to move on and begin the process of change.

I don't think he looks like he wants to stay tbh

Team needs a refresh - some new signings not up to it, older players getting a bit past it
Family have moved back to Spain
Lost a parent
Lost 2 assistant managers in 2 years
Visibly spikey in press conferences

Pep said the Vinny news came as a surprise. Komps was due to stay 1 more year so we had no cb lined up until he made a late decision to leave.

You can’t blame injuries solely on Pep. Sergio does get injured regularly but will not be replaced until he leaves. The Jesus injury was really bad luck. What quality forward wants to come in knowing that he will not play much when both return? Unless we change formation.

The situation is what it is. Some players are just not good enough. Standards have dropped and form is out the window.

Maybe the club record signing could I don’t know have some sort of impact in games. Maybe a shot on target would be a step in the right direction.

Bernie is a real worry. Thought he would kick on. Work ethic is not in doubt but his ability to create and dictate games is.

That's the way I feel about him at the moment. He's just not the same guy he was before covid, I know he's lost his mother but lot's of us have and we have to get on with it.
I got 3 days off when mine died.
For me his whole demeanor shouts ..I'm Fed up and don't want to be here anymore.
In my opinion he is 100% on his way out, whether he stays the whole season is another question.
Picking the same team that was completely inefective against Porto and not including the two lads who change things around in that game (Foden and Torres) had a profound effect on me even more than the Lyon game.
I'm a fan of Pep, but I have a very strong feeling he's done with us.
