i have tried, it has beaten me down as still does, near!y eight months i have been fighting it , thought my time was up not long ago, you do have to meet it head on which is why i post facts and links and get shouted down for being negative , talking about and being sick with it is two different things

Dont fucking moan that you have to wear a mask and not go to the pub

And breathe

Not aimed at you obvs x

"poems and Maths" is just as important in situations like this. If you don't grasp statsistics, exponential growth, probabilities - you don't understand how a virus spreads or the effectiveness of you as an individual isolating and breaking the chain of infections.

And English Literature, "shit like poems" is where we teach kids analytical skills you apply every time you read an article.
Neither of which will help anyone get healthier to help stop complications with a virus.

There are essential elements to English and Maths, obviously. That’s why they’re taught in such depth. However, there are useless things taught just to fill out the exam papers at the end of the course, while most kids leave school not knowing how to get fit and healthy, and stay fit and healthy.

Total shambolic government leadership, does this virus know where to stop between tiers ?
no it doesn’t we need to go into a break again as painful it will be it must be done , I’ve read posts on here and it’s a point now where we need to look at the longer bigger picture not the short term, I’ve lost family and had two daughters tested months ago and we’re still in the the same situation.
Some fooker show some balls and leadership, listen to the science and call it .
We’ve not got the ICU beds as other countries have and there income is lower than ours.
its shambolic when the health secretary says ‘ are icu beds are running low ?
not a political post but ask why we haven’t got the beds ?

We've got all the right beds. We just haven't got them all in the right places.

HOW BUSY WERE ICUS IN THE UK, ITALY, FRANCE, BELGIUM AND THE NETHERLANDS DURING THE PEAK OF THE CRISIS?

What does that equate to per million people? 49.53

ITALY

Busiest day: April 3

How many patients were in ICU? 4,068 Covid-19 patients were in intensive care

What does that equate to per million people? 67.40

FRANCE

Busiest day: April 8

How many patients were in ICU? 7,019 Covid-19 patients were in intensive care

What does that equate to per million people? 104.78

BELGIUM

Busiest day: April 8

How many patients were in ICU? 1,285 Covid-19 patients were in intensive care

What does that equate to per million people? 112.13

THE NETHERLANDS

Busiest day: April 7

How many patients were in ICU? 1,315 Covid-19 patients were in intensive care

What does that equate to per million people? 76.10

PE and Food tech are two of the most important subjects at school, yet neither are compulsory after Year 9. That’s fucking mental that!

So that could be 85% of school kids, who don’t choose either of those subjects as options, who leave school with no idea how to exercise and eat/cook for a healthy lifestyle.

Essential life knowledge is not taught in anywhere near enough depth at school. They have to learn, in-depth, shit like poems and Maths that 99.5% of all people will never use in their life. Yet most leave school having been taught nothing at all about heart rate zones, muscular endurance, strength and power, cardiovascular fitness, protein+fats, vitamins+minerals, refined v wholemeal carbs, calories...
You must be in the 0.5% of people that do use maths .....you used it twice in one post!

And 99.5% of people won't understand this reply...unless they use maths of course.

This is actually a pretty tame virus - it's just that our immune systems have never encountered anything like it before.
Most of the deaths are down to Cytokine Storm due to our immune systems going barmy. If it had encountered something similar beforehand it would be able to deal with it.

Good call. We do have the beds though, for now.....

Just so you know, PE is a core subject that students have to do till they are 16. Yes they can take it as an optional GCSE which obviously goes into the theory side in much more detail but in terms of physical activity, PE is something they have core compulsory lessons in in the same way they have to do maths and English.

With respect mate my point is the vast majority of established European countries has more icu beds per head than we have, Per capita regardless of what the daily mail will yawn out.

Looking at tomorrow’s headlines, seems a national lockdown is now inevitable.
Are they being briefed or is it just media noise. If it's the former then it makes a nonsense of the tier system.
Surely they'd move the rest of the nation into T2 before a nationwide escalation to SuperT3/ lockdown?

There's plenty of data available if you care to search.
Follow the trail. It'll be somewhere in here.

Indeed!

Although I didn’t mean that people don’t use any Maths, I meant there are aspects of Maths that most people will ever use.

I'm so glad I don't bother with written media (written or online), bunch of shit stirrers in the main, love to cause panic and love a crisis.

I'll stick to what I've been doing since March, and keep my fingers crossed, but I'm not letting it ruin my life.

The biggest thing we could do, as I said about 4 weeks ago, is prevent non essential travel beyond a few miles, won't miss "non essential" for now personally, so long as we can still go out into the fresh air, national trust must think I'm taking the piss out of my membership, but it's been a godsend this year.

The above graphs show how utterly fucking stupid it is though im afraid given what we are actually up against here and the real factors behind the numbers that have died ie existing health conditions and age.

Yes wear a mask, yes keep as socially distant as possible, yes wash your hands, yes use hand sanitiser but locking ourselves away like we are doing is utterly fucking bonkers and frankly futile and for nothing other than risking the economy and even more lives in the long run as the undiagnosed cancer deaths creep up on us etc.

but what about hospitals reaching max capacity and ICU beds running out ??!
