One of my friends who is also a colleague lives in Madrid at the weekends and here in Zurich during the week. he is also well in the vulnerable group. He's not been out of his small 1 bed apartment in Madrid for 7 weeks! We have a weekly video conference as we wait for our company to fold, we are all on furlough right now. He is slowly loosing his mind. One of the smartest guys I know and he's going Gomer Pyle.

It's just wrong. Take Tenerife. Without all the tourists they could do an hour or two out of their apartments as there is a lot of space. Many live in small spaces with just a tiny balcony. There would be mutiny here.

Or an army of new cyclists and dog walkers the streets are busier than they have ever been.

Not many thin young people in the mortality statistics without some other comorbidity.

Yes, but in the overweight elderly people is the BMI itself the comorbidity factor or is it another underlying condition which may or not be related to being overweight?

Age, gender and underlying health conditions seem to be clearer risk factors than BMI in itself.

Maybe I’m missing something as you’re one of the most knowledgeable on this thread and I enjoy reading the your insights, even though I don’t always understand all the data.

We have friends in Spain and I believe it is a really heavy fine if you are caught out and about with no good cause, also you are to go directly to the nearest supermarket even if it isn't the one you use normally or again you will be nailed to the floor.

Maybe not so bad if you have a solarium or a roof terrace with shade but probably few and far between for normal family homes.

It will be mental torture for a lot of people, no doubt about it.

Was speaking to my auntie who lives in Spain today, she said her neighbour was fined 600 euros for going a supermarket further away to the one nearest to her house. Another neighbour she knows was fined the same for car sharing with someone she works with. Think she said the maximum fines they are handing out are 30000 euros. Not messing around over there with the fines

'ckin Ada.
He's been largely absent from the management of the crisis due to his illness.
But he was the responsible for his Government doing nothing in the three weeks prior to lockdown when we the UK had the benefit of hindsight at what was going on 'over there' to 'Johnny Foreigner'.
That inaction alone is responsible for most of the deaths occurring now.
But the media and the establishment have his back.
And you're grovelling to him.

The common cold is one of the Coronavirus. We have not produced a vaccine yet. Herd immunity is the only way. Our chief scientific officer let the cat out of the bag months ago -as long as the NHS is not over whelmed we can cope. It's only this. Alas this thing will run it's course and we can only mitigate
The UK has had pandemic preparedness policy documents and they revolve around herd immunity according to this.

this might be totally bollocks but we don't get immunity to cold because it is not a killer virus,we have flu which we need a vaccine for vulnerable people, covid is a killer of all ages and healths so we need a vaccine for this,it is also very contageous

Most scientists i have seen just say we assume we got immunity from covid based on experience with other viruses but they dont know it it last lifelong or just a year, going by what the WHO woman is saying i am leaning towards there not being enough to cover us from getting it again

Is any of that right?

I don't see anything opening anytime soon. Nadine Dorries let the cat out of the bag by saying as much, that until a vaccine is created we remain locked down. When this was greeted with alarm she backtracked a bit.
Keeping our Distance yes. Not restarting the economy, no chance.
