Regions:

Patients //// Ventilators

LONDON P UP 8 to 840 (was 625 wk ago) //// V UP 7 to 131 (wk ago was 80)

MIDLANDS P UP 57 to 1802 (was 1213 wk ago) //// V UP 1 to 193 (wk ago was 142)

NE/YORKS P 84 yo 2256 (was 1595 wk ago) //// V UP 7 to 157 (wk ago was 112)

But the North West had a remarkably good day:

Patients DOWN 75 to 2500 (was 2130 wk ago) //// V DOWN 3 to 210 (190 wk ago)

Early days and GM is not yet really a big factor in this as it seems to be elsewhere in the region but a week where it looked certain that by now the NW would be above the number of patients it had in at peak in the first wave in April (this was 2890) - is actually little closer than it was at the start of the week.

As for Ventilators - the peak here in April was 350 but it has slowed right down. Being only 7 above where it was 5 days ago.

The NW has easily made the most progress this week of all the UK regions, several of which have caught up fast in numbers.
Maybe, just maybe, the Tier 3 restrictions have begun to have an impact?

Good for you, genuinely. However, it’s most certainly not been the case for everyone, people I know and myself with my own medical referrals and their persistent delays.
I accept that and i am very sorry for anyone who has not been so lucky , have to say i havent been left hanging at all , maybe because the main thing has been covid , they have looked after me very well everytime i needed to go in, always had my surgery on the end of the phone as well, i guess covid has highlighted what health authorities are in good shape and those not well run

Maybe he is re writing the detail now he let his pet Preston leak it and the UCU have already muted tutors and lecturors refusing to work in face to face lessons and could ballot if igbored.
NEU been less confrontational but insist education must be home based forthe month.

Also ned th echancelor to sign it off and they seem to have not even decided how to pay people yet who are out of work or wfh again.
Maybe he’s been waiting for Healdplace’s daily update. For the final tweaks.....

They have seemingly worked on Merseyside (or its just coincidental) but only slight signs it might be filtering through to GM

Though we should have a clearer picture in a few days on that.

Around when they finally decide to have this press conference probably.

Yep,my old man has had surgery cancelled twice.Scheduled for a week Sunday now,but i won't be surprised if he gets another set back.
My step dad had surgery planned in August '19 cancelled four times. As it turned out we raised a complaint and persisted in escalating it and it was eventually done in February thus year, just in time he was on the verge of bleeding to death internally.

The point of this post is that there was no Corona virus around last year, last summer yet still an urgent operation was continually cancelled. The NHS has been performing poorly for years with massive waiting lists and deferred referrals.

I know it is likely to get worse but don't let them kid you it's all down to Cirona virus.

They have only scheduled this one as he's been mithering them to death,i suspect anyone who isn't prepared to kick up a fuss will unfortunately be overlooked.

40% of cases are in older school children and a further 20% as their parents and other live in relatives catch it from them.
Unless they close schools lockdown won't work. The figures from Wales and NI this week prove it.
