Do you argue with yourself, ffs?

I am not an ex-this or ex-that, but very much still involved with the NHS and I, along with many other colleagues, was told that the timescales for the vaccine had been seriously narrowed and the NHS should be prepared to roll out a mass vaccination programme from December 1st. That’s not to say that there will be one on that date but all the regions have been told the same thing.

I thought I’d share it here, as I thought some might find it interesting, but I won‘t be doing it again, so you (and @mosssideblue, for that matter) don’t need to worry and can just keep scouring the purveyors of truth, sky and the Beeb.
I simply asked you where you had heard that because I would have expected something so significant would have made a broader audience than Bluemoon.

Why did that offend you?

Todays 5 day old based Red Watch list says that the top 3 are all in the North West. Which is true. Most of the top 10 is and most of GM not in the top 10 are not far behind it.

But they say Blackburn stays top despite hardly having increased week to week from 738 to 740.

With Oldham second on 695. And Wigan third on 665.

However, in the past five days since that calculation Oldham has shot up to 780 after lots of cases and may well have gone above Blackburn by now. And Wigan was way up too - though it fell 20 points yesterday after a great day back to 721. So not threatening either of the above.

But these three are almost certainly still top of the numbers right now in whatever order. Though Oldham has had the worst of these past 5 days, sadly.

A bloke at my girlfriends work has just tested positive, my girlfriend was in the office last Tuesday and was near this fella amongst others. He had a cold but no cough/fever at the time, later last week he developed loss of smell/taste and felt under the weather so got a test at the weekend.

She is now having to self-isolate out of precaution but given it's 6 days ago and she has no symptoms whatsoever it seems unlikely she was infected.

God knows where that leaves me, she lives with me but I'm assuming she would only become infectious 1-2 days after that meaning if she's asymptomatic I could show symptoms anytime this week.... Lovely stuff!

Total UK death total for the four nations is 129. Last week it was 103. So that is a modest rise - though Sunday data always creates an artificial low. It will go up tomorrow. The 103 became 102 all settings last week.

Cases from the three nations last week were 3007. Today they are 3090. But it will be probably a couple of hundred less than that in reality at least given the unknown add on numbers reported in Wales via lost tests from the day before.

Either way cases are not rapidly escalating in the three nations that is clear.

I'm not arguing, but it does say in this link that London ambulance service are responding to an average of 37 per day,as opposed to 22 in 2019.

Sorry wrong link.....
The London Ambulance Service has said the number of suicide and attempted suicide incidents has increased, with crews attending an average of 37 callouts per day, compared to 22 in 2019.
Thanks for the link, it might be lower or higher in other areas ,the overall number per 100,000 versus previous years is the better indicator

And swimming baths... this can easily be the most depressing time of year for so many people, they need to be able to keep sane throughout this.
Exactly, while many reach for the medication cabinet, many others use exercise as their therapy - the choice is yours, but one should not take precedence over the other, and both options should always be available.

Rolling out mass vaccination in dec is misleading , people are hanging on a vaccine so it is right to say the facts , the imperial college guy and welcome trust guy say spring for mass rollout , earlier for front line staff if they are willing ,i listen to those qualified not sky and bbc persay

Of course not.

Do you realise how ridiculous it is to say you have "no doubt" that an opinion of yours which contradicts all scientific understanding is correct?

Frankly I thing only one of us currently looks ridiculous but you as I am allowed to express and have an opinion and I for one would not see the need to try and big yourself up by attempting to put down another poster for expressing an opinion.

Thanks ever so much for your input though.

I have heard very similar

"...and the NHS should be prepared to roll out a mass vaccination programme from December 1st."

Doesn't it simply say to prepare for the day we will have a vaccine?

Vaccinating 40m+ people needs a very good plan, same in Germany. It's about preparing early.

A doctor i know well said he is inundated with people asking for anti depressant's. So may struggling with it.
I understand but that was not the point i was making , as i said another hysterial person on tv today was shouting suicide rates are soaring so i thought i would have a look , it is a myth that needs putting to bed along with some other things said by those who dont want lockdown

The other thing about home schooling , it has been a thing for ever , home schooled kids do just fine over many years , we are only doing it for a few months

i think the bigger issue is people need kids at school so they can go to work? The economy cant just stop,

Not offended but I would rather people didn’t know where I work for a living and only post ‘actual’ stuff if I’ve actually been told it. I’m on leave today and was told the vaccine stuff on Friday.

Most of the other bollox I post is of course just a personal opinion, which you’d imagine goes without saying....

But home schooled kids have a much looser timetable , it is not a block of eight hours ,it can be done around jobs and the kids can get on with work on their own , parents who home school normally must wonder what all the fuss is about

If you are a kid of key workers then you go to school as before

Hence why gyms need to stay open,it would go a long way towards preventing or alleviating associated conditions/illnesses.

The govt should consider keeping gyms and golf courses open.

Many people use the gym to release endorphins, improve their mental health and wellbeing. A good session can completely improve your mood/ mind set on that day. Weight loss is a bonus and likely to prevent illness during winter. I imagine playing golf can do similar.

A lot of gyms have observed distancing measures with equipment being spread out and plenty of desensitizer and paper towels available.

Running outside isn't for everybody especially those with reoccurring injuries etc.

Can you not cope for a few weeks in exchange for a chance to improve life for everybody?

The PM's official spokesman said guidance sets out that individuals can exercise in a public space with one other person or with own household.

"It's not the intention, however, for tennis courts or for golf courses to remain open," he said.

On why the government is shutting them, he said: "People are able to use public spaces or walk or run in the park.

"The purpose of the tougher regulations, which I expect are going to be difficult for very many people, are to significantly reduce social contact."

Be creative , ask your gym to run classes with what they can outside , why have we lost our creativity and problem solving
