It is quite funny how their season is playing out like ours last year.

Going into the season with 3 senior CBs and a midfielder who can cover, the best CB gets a serious knee injury, and then the English one drops a few weeks later. I think Stones got injured 1 game after Laporte? Maybe a couple later.

Matip is better than Otamendi but they're scraping the barrel.

Just me who thinks they'll be fine? They defend from the front so aggressively that I'd be surprised if they have any major problems...sadly!
They relied on the defence a huge amount last season. Almost every game after October/Novermber was them defending, clinging on for a decent portion of the game, the other side not taking their chances and then Liverpool punishing them eventually.

I don't rate Gomez but it will put pressure on the rest of their squad because they wont be able to play Fabinho every game.

Liverpool rode their luck last season. They had as many injuries as anyone else but they weren't to their key players. Now the same thing that happened to City last season has happened to them: they get him with a double whammy in the same position.

They will get a dispensation to sign a couple of defenders in the next week with City, Everton and the FA footing the bill.

What’s the bet he miraculously recovers in time for Liverpool’s next game?

Even if he was out for any length of time, Liverpool will manage. they’ve got a bunch of cloggers infront of them and have the ability to play the high energy game that will win them games without needing to rely on their defence. They won’t be as badly impacted as we were last season by a similar injury list. Now if you were to take 1/2 of their fullbacks or their forwards out of the equation then they’ll struggle but I think CB is their least impactful position to have their best players missing

Lets hope Leicester attack them and dont shit themselves. Vardy could have a field day there.

TAA is a massive miss for them also, due to his quality of long balls that they rely on.

Pray for gomez everyone. The poor little duck. How come injuries only ever happen to everyone’s favourite team? I’ll be lighting a candle for him for sure with peace of mind that he’s in a better place along Virgil and Trent

I'd never wish injury on any player, even their mob. Though Robertson would sorely tempt me. If Gomez has a "potentially serious" injury, it'll be interesting to see how they cope without him, Dick and Terence. 3 of their first choice back 4.

Think they wont be too bad as they still have Mane and Salah. If one of these two get injured, especially Mane then they are done. The way they get flogged though may see to that.

Sky saying it is “serious” and not just minor.

would be a huge shame!

Robertson
Henderson
Salah

If I was being mean I would throw Mane into the mix too for being a cheating bastard :)
