There's an ungodly amount of bullshit in there though isn't there?

"The Obama recovery was the most cronyist corrupt recovery ever" - This is literal nonsense. What is "the Obama recovery"? It sounds like he's talking about the 2008 Emergency Economic Stabilisation Act, passed by George Bush.

Then he completely invents a pretend civil war in Portland and delivers the truly brilliant statement - You don't want civil war. No fucking shit.

The icing on the cake is when he says "You've probably lost your factory job, you probably can't afford healthcare, you've got 1 son who's addicted to opioids, you've got one who's not the same since he got back from a stupid war and then the people who sent him to that war are insulting you.

Oh really? The liberals sent your son to war? Of course, how could I forget that pair of famous lefty democrats George Bush and Dick Cheney.

And was it the democrats who are trying to takeaway affordable healthcare? No.

And is it the Democrats who refuse to treat addiction as a health issue and instead demand more money goes to fighting border wars and increasing criminal punishments? No. And is it the Democrats who receive 75% of Big Pharma money in government? No.

And why are you voting for Donald Trump to bring back your factory job when he failed to create a single job in the coal industry in 4 years after campaigning on it?

Who is campaigning for higher taxes for the 1% to create social aid for the unemployed factory worker who has to get a new job? The Democrats. Who raised taxes for the middle class earning $75k? Donald Trump.

This perfectly sums up the stupidity of the "both sides" argument. You've got a guy lecturing for 10 minutes about all how people vote Republican because of all these problems in America and then never actually making the connection they're all created and made worse by the Republicans FFS.
You don’t have to agree with what was said. But the points they’ve discussed are some reasons people voted for Trump. Trump represented something different for a lot of people who had been constantly let down by both rebuplicans and democrats in the past. To write them off as all being racist and white supremacists is just silly. That was the point I was trying to make.

It wasn’t all about racism and white supremacy. Stupidity was a significant factor as well.

It astounds me that we have a 400,000 post thread about how biased and shitty TalkSport is, yet here comes yet another rube too dumb to know he’s been conned posting Joe Rogan clips as if he’d just been under his desk sucking the guy off.
I haven’t been conned. Just understand the thought process behind why people preferred Trump over Biden and Clinton.

But the points they've discussed are lies.

He's explaining why people would vote for trump using lies. Obama didn't do the bailout. Democrats didn't send anyone to war.

The only time he got close to the truth was when he said Trump appealed to people because he said "fuck muslims, fuck mexicans, I'm here for you" which is just another way of expressing the "economic anxiety" dogwhistle racism.

Also I think we've been over this a lot, but if you are happy getting in bed with white supremacists and electing racists to the highest office, to enact their racist policies, then you might as well be a racist. You're promoting a racist agenda.

Uh, if you're quoting Joe Rogan, clipping him, listening to him or relying on him, you are.

We've been having the discussion about Trump supporters and their myriad perspectives here for three years. The difference is when I talk about it, I don't have an audience of Trump supporters or "both siders" I have to coddle to ensure they keep supporting me financially.

Of course they aren't all racists and white supremacists. You don't need Joe Rogan to tell you that, nor does the statement have any kind of authority coming from Joe Rogan -- it has LESS.

He's a sanctimonious know-nothing twunt, and that dickhead with him is just as bad. He's grifting.

It’s as though 70m voters can’t understand they live in a (really crippled) democracy.
And unlike 4 years ago, the minority didn’t win this time.

To paraphrase (the 60m odd from 4 years ago), get over it!

I don’t think i’d call them all racists - just really thick! How could anyone with a brain vote that prick in. Mind you racism and thickness do run hand in hand

I would amend @domalino's comment to "you are happy getting in bed with someone who appeases verified racists." Which, I've argued for three years could possibly be worse than being an actual racist.

Trump's not just an appeaser of racists, he is as provably racist as anyone can be. Very rarely in history has someone had 40 years of unashamedly racist comments caught on TV or radio, and then come to power and enacted racist policies - and that's just the stuff we know. Imagine if we ever get those BTS Apprentice tapes that the producers said had so much casual racism in there it was beyond belief.

And @foetus might not like it, but if you vote for a bonafide, openly racist person to lead your country then you're endorsing his racist policies and behaviour.

And what do you call someone who endorses racist behaviours and policies? Simple. A racist.

Speaking of facts, that other pencil-neck argued that Trump was nearly President by "this much" with his fingers close together (approximating his dick size).

Fucker, Biden's winning by 5.2M votes and his EC lead is the same as Trump's was when Trump was calling that a landslide. This wasn't a close election AT ALL.

I think you are right although at one point I argued you were wrong (meaning I thought Trump himself -- personally -- wasn't necessarily racist, just using racists), but my thinking has changed.

However that's about defining a "racist." We could debate that, though I think you win that debate.

However, we can verify factually that Trump appeased those who self-identify as racists. That's fact, not opinion, and not definitional.

What’s “oh dear” about that? He’s bang on the money.
I'm gonna be honest, I was drunk and stoned when I posted that Rogan video last night so I can't remember the details exactly. But the point I was trying to make is I understand why people vote for Trump. i.e. to rebel against 'career politicians' who they've been constantly let down by (both democrats and republicans) and sick of the 'woke' culture (yes, I genuinely believe this is a legit reason people voted red) etc etc. Obama was very charismatic and promised a lot so he got a lot of people's hopes up (especially in the black community). However, I think a lot of people felt let down by Obama after his 8 years and felt they would take the gamble on Trump over Clinton. Biden has the charisma of an impacted wisdom tooth so people who have been in Trumps camp the last 4 years haven't been persuaded to switch sides.

To simply say 70 million people are dumb, racist etc is just shutting down the discussion into why people feel the way they feel. My "oh dear" was frustration because of this shutting down of discussion by just labelling the other side racists. White Supremacists are a very small percentage of people voting red, there are extremists on both sides.

Anyway, I'm off for a weekend piss-up at some wineries.

Mate - we on this side of the pond voted for a career politician and have a similarly fat white haired inept fuck wit in charge.

People need to learn to spot a **** and not vote for a **** because that cunts acolytes will be more cunts and before you know it you have a **** government. Over here I think the shine has well and truly worn off out **** sadly in the USA turns out 70m people have similar cuntish tendencies. Those that aren't cunts need to shun those that are and cold shoulder them so they learn what they think, say and do is not normal, not civilised and unAmerican

“I feel the way I feel” is (a) not an excuse for a campaign who was happy to embrace the slogan “Fuck your feelings” and (b) isn’t any kind of excuse for voters not doing their homework about who they voted for.

Sloppy, slovenly, lazy citizenship has no excuse. If you spent any time understanding who or what Trump was prior to the election — hell, there’s only 30 plus years of public history about him, including books he (claimed he) wrote — I cannot see a moral person crafting a case for supporting him given his past where he’s demonstrated exactly what kind of character he has.

Caveat emptor, no fucking excuses. I can understand their decisions, but I don’t have to excuse them, and I don’t. Especially in 2020.
